International Federation for Choral Music

International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) is an international association founded in 1982 to facilitate communication and exchange between choral musicians throughout the world.

Contents

IFCM has around 900 members from all continents. The members are individuals, choirs, organisations or companies. Through the organisations and choirs IFCM plays a role in choral music and choral events in the world. On the International Music Council of the UNESCO IFCM is the official representative of choral music.

The Seattle Girls Choir (SGC) was established in 1982 by Dr. Jerome L. Wright as a "junior conservatory" where young women from throughout the Puget Sound region could gather after school to develop their music education.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chor Leoni Men's Choir</span> Canadian choir

The Chor Leoni Men's Choir is a male choir based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The group was founded in 1992 by Order of Canada recipient Diane Loomer, C.M., and consists of up to 65 male singers. While primarily focused on performing classical choral repertoire, Chor Leoni sings music of all genres and time periods, and in many different languages. In recent years, the group has commissioned original choral pieces from Ēriks Ešenvalds, Rodney Sharman and others. Since 2013, the group has hosted and participated in the VanMan Choral Summit, a gathering of male choirs from around the world, featuring international choirs such as Chanticleer (ensemble) and Iceland’s Karlakórinn Heimir.

Vytautas Miškinis is a Lithuanian composer, choral conductor and academic teacher. He is artistic director of Ąžuoliukas, a boys' and youth choir and music school, and of other ensembles, performing internationally. He has taught choral conducting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre from 1985. His groups have won prizes at international competitions, where he also served as member of the jury. His compositions are part of international standard choral repertoire.

Hekekyan is a professor of conducting at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. He also serves as the director of the Sayat-Nova Music School.

He received his music training at Escuela Libre de Música de Ponce, Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and Temple University College of Music, and was a music professor at Ponce High School, Instituto de Musica Juan Morel Campos, and Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Puerto Rico.

Hyo-Won Woo is a South Korean composer, especially of choral music. She uses elements from both Korean music and Western contemporary composition techniques.
