The International Sailing Schools Association also known as ISSA is an international organization associating 3,500 sailing schools from all over the world. [2] ISSA was founded in London and Paris in 1969 as a result of a joint initiative of the sailing communities of France, Poland, Italy, Switzerland and Great Britain. [1] [2] [5]

In 1982, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe granted the ISSA consultative status as an NGO. [6]

In 2005 World Sailing discussed the role of ISSA at its annual conference. [7]

FKS Stal Mielec is a Polish football club based in Mielec, Poland. The club was established on April 10, 1939. Historically, the club has enjoyed great successes within Poland's Ekstraklasa, winning the title twice but had undergone significant management changes and financial difficulties within the past two decades, which forced the club from participation in the Poland's top league. After winning the third-tier II liga title in 2016, Stal Mielec was promoted to I liga. After finishing first in I liga in 2020, Stal Mielec was promoted to the Ekstraklasa for the first time since the 1995–96 season.

Dover Grammar School for Boys (DGSB) is a selective secondary school located in Dover, United Kingdom, whose origins can be traced back to the Education Act 1902 (the 'Balfour Act'). Originally founded as the Dover County School for Boys and Girls with locations behind the Dover Town Hall and on Priory Hill, the co-educational arrangements were early on prohibited by the Kent Education Committee. Dover Grammar School for Boys now occupies a prominent position overlooking the town of Dover on Astor Avenue. Its sister school is located in Frith Road and known as the Dover Grammar School for Girls (DGSG).

Les Glénans is a French sailing school, operating as a non-profit organization. Most of its instructors are volunteers. It was founded in 1947 by Philippe and Hélène Viannay, who had been involved with the French Resistance during World War II. Its first site was the Glénan archipelago, about 10 nautical miles (20 km) off the coast of southern Brittany. Among its first boats was a 12-meter Bermudian cutter called Sereine, which is now a French listed monument and still sails after having been entirely refurbished in 2005.

David McPherson Broome is a retired Welsh show jumping champion. He competed in the 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1988 Olympics and won individual bronze medals in 1960 on Sunsalve and in 1968 on his best-known horse Mr Softee. In 1960, he was also voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and at the 1972 Games served as the Olympic flag bearer for Great Britain.

Olympiacos sailing department was established in 1949 and since then has won Olympic distinctions, two gold medals in World Championships as well as one gold, two silver and one bronze medal in European Championships. The sailing department successfully organized the Finn Gold Cup in Athens in 1998 and in 2002 at the club's marine training facilities in Alexandras Square, Piraeus. Olympiacos' leading athlete in the FINN Category is World Champion and five-time Olympian, Aimilios Papathanasiou.

The Soling World Championship is an International sailing regatta in the Soling organized by the International Soling Association under auspiciën of World Sailing.

The 470 European Championships are international sailing regattas in the 470 class, held annually since 1966. Non-European entries are allowed to take part since the 1972 edition, however they will not become European champions.

The National School Sailing Association or NSSA was formed after a meeting on 6 January 1961 at the London Institute of Education, held to create and approve officers, committee, and a constitution of a new organisation to promote and oversee the sport of sailing in schools in the United Kingdom. It is a charity and a membership organisation whose purpose is to run sail racing events for young people.

Sogn og Fjordane is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Årdal, Askvoll, Aurland, Bremanger, Fjaler, Gloppen, Gulen, Høyanger, Hyllestad, Kinn, Lærdal, Luster, Sogndal, Solund, Stad, Stryn, Sunnfjord and Vik in the county of Vestland. The constituency currently elects three of the 169 members of the Storting using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2021 parliamentary election it had 78,282 registered electors.
