Iose Epenesa (YO-say) is an American football defensive end.
Epenesa lives in Edwardsville, Illinois and attends Edwardsville High School, where he plays football, basketball, and is on the track and field team. [1] [2] He holds set the school record in shot-put and is second in the discus throw. [3] As a junior Epenesa, he had 46 tackles, seven sacks, ten tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles as a junior. [4] He was selected to play in the 2025 All-American Bowl. [5]
Epenesa is rated a five-star recruit by 247Sports . [6] He committed to play college football at Iowa over offers from Penn State, Miami, and Utah. [7]
Epenesa's older brother, A. J., played defensive end at Iowa and currently plays in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills. [8] Another brother, Eric, is a linebacker at Iowa. [9] Epenesa's father also played defensive line at Iowa. [10]
