Western Asia Westernmost subregion of the continent of Asia

Western Asia, West Asia, or Southwest Asia, is the westernmost subregion of the larger geographical region of Asia, as defined by some academics, UN bodies and other institutions. It is entirely a part of the Greater Middle East and almost entirely a part of the Middle East, and includes Anatolia, the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, Mesopotamia, the Levant, the island of Cyprus, the Sinai Peninsula, and partly Transcaucasia. The region is considered to be separated from Africa by the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt, and separated from Europe by the waterways of the Turkish Straits and the watershed of the Greater Caucasus. Central Asia lies to its northeast, while South Asia lies to its east. Eight seas surround the region (clockwise): the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea.

Iraq national football team

The Iraq national football team represents Iraq in international football and is controlled by the Iraq Football Association (IFA), the governing body for football in Iraq. Most of Iraq's home matches are played at the Basra International Stadium.

The Syria national football team represents Syria in association football and is controlled by the Syrian Arab Federation for Football, the governing body for football in Syria. Syria has never qualified for the World Cup finals but did reach the fourth qualification round in 2018. The team is currently banned by FIFA from playing at home, as they have not hosted a game since December 2010.

The Lebanon national football team, controlled by the Lebanese Football Association (LFA), have represented Lebanon in association football since their inception in 1933. The squad is governed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) continentally, and FIFA worldwide. While Lebanon have yet to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, they have qualified three times to the AFC Asian Cup: they first participated in 2000, when they hosted the event. Lebanon's main venue is the Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium in Beirut; however they also play in other locations such as the Saida Municipal Stadium in Sidon.

The West Asian Games was a multi-sport event held every four years among the athletes from West Asia.

Asian Handball Federation

The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Asia. It has 44 member countries, mostly located on the Asian continent, but excludes the transcontinental countries with territory in both Europe and Asia – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russian Federation and Turkey – which are instead members of European Handball Federation (EHF). Three other states located along the western fringe of Asia – Cyprus, Armenia and Israel – are also EHF members. Hong Kong China and Macau, although not independent countries, are also members of the AHF.

Osama Hussain, is a Kuwaiti football Right-back, centre-back. Osama finished his career at Al Arabi. He retired in 30/5/2002 in (Kuwait×Iran) Match which was finished (1-3) for Iran.

Iran national football team results (1990–1999)

This is a list of official football games played by Iran national football team between 1990 and 1999.

The Lebanon women's national football team is the official women's national football team of the country of Lebanon. The team was established in 2005, and is controlled by the Lebanon Football Association (LFA), the governing body for football in Lebanon. Whilst the team has yet to qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup, or the AFC Women's Asian Cup, they have finished in third place at the 2007 and 2019 editions of the WAFF Women's Championship.

Basketball was one of the 42 sports at the 16th Asian Games 2010 at Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The event was held at the 13,000 seat Guangzhou International Sports Arena, Huangpu Gymnasium, Guangti Gymnasium, Ying Dong Gymnasium and Sports and Entertainment Centre.

At the 2005 West Asian Games, the athletics events were held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar. Contested over three days, from 7 to 9 December, it was the first time that women were allowed to compete in athletics events at the Games. A total of 28 events were contested, of which 23 by male and 5 by female athletes. The event was seen as a test event for the Athletics at the 2006 Asian Games, which Doha hosted the following year.

At the 2002 West Asian Games. the athletics events were held in Kuwait City, Kuwait in April 2002. It had a men's only programme containing seventeen track and field events. Several athletics events usually held at multi-sport events were excluded from the schedule: the steeplechase, 10,000 metres, javelin and discus throws, marathon and race walking events were all absent.

Diving was contested at the 2005 West Asian Games in Doha, Qatar from December 5 to December 7. Men's individual and synchronized events were held. All competition took place at the Hamad Aquatic Centre.

The football tournament at the 2002 West Asian Games took place from 4 to 12 April 2002. It was originally scheduled for October 2001, but was postponed due to the September 11 attacks. Oman were originally scheduled to take part in group A along with Kuwait and Qatar but withdrew and the format was changed to one group. All matches was played at the Al-Qadisiya stadium.

Swimming was one of the many sports which was held at the 1997 West Asian Games in Tehran, Iran between 22 and 24 November 1997. The competition took place at the Azadi Sport Complex. It had a men's only programme containing 16 events. A total of 35 swimmers from 6 nations participated.

Swimming at the 2002 West Asian Games was held at Fahad Al-Ahmad Swimming Complex, Kuwait City, Kuwait from 4 April to 7 April 2002.

Artistic gymnastics at the 2002 West Asian Games was held at Yarmouk Hall, Kuwait City, Kuwait from 10 April 2002 to 12 April 2002.

The Judo Union of Asia (JUA) is the governing body of judo in Asia. It is one of the five continental confederations making up the International Judo Federation (IJF). JUA was formed in 1956 in Tokyo (Japan), with Chinese Taipei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Thailand being the founder members. JUA has headquarters in Kuwait and consists of 39 member federations.
