2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup Cricket tournament

The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event.

Saif Hassan is a cricketer from Bangladesh. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team in February 2020.

The Bangladeshi cricket team toured New Zealand from December 2016 to January 2017 to play two Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20Is). New Zealand won both the ODI and T20I series 3–0 and won the Test series 2–0.

The 2017 Ireland Tri-Nation Series was a One Day International cricket tournament that took place in Ireland in May 2017. It was a tri-nation series between Ireland, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The matches were in preparation for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, which took place in June 2017 in England and Wales. Cricket Ireland announced the full fixtures in July 2016. Ahead of the ODI fixtures, Ireland played two warm-up matches; a 50-over match against Bangladesh and a 25-over match against New Zealand.

The 2016–17 National Cricket League was the eighteenth edition of the National Cricket League, a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 25 September 2016 and concluded on 6 January 2017. Khulna Division were the defending champions.

2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup Cricket tournament

The 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020. It was the thirteenth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in South Africa. Sixteen teams took part in the tournament, split into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group advanced to the Super League, with the bottom two teams in each group progressing to the Plate League. India were the defending champions.

The Bangladesh cricket team toured the West Indies and the United States between June and August 2018 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The final two T20I matches took place at the Central Broward Regional Park, in Lauderhill, Florida. The second Test took place in Jamaica, fourteen years after Bangladesh last played a Test there. Bangladesh last toured the West Indies in September 2014.

The Bangladesh national cricket team toured Sri Lanka from March 2017 to April 2017. The tour consisted of a series of two Test matches, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 internationals (T20Is). The second Test match of the tour was the 100th Test played by Bangladesh. The tour also featured a two-day warm-up match ahead of the Test fixtures and a one-day warm-up match ahead of the ODIs. The Test series was played for the Joy Bangla Cup in honour of the father of the Bangladesh nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

2018 Nidahas Trophy Cricket tournament

The 2018 Nidahas Trophy was a cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka in March 2018. It was a tri-nation series between Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. Each team played each other twice, with two teams progressing to the final. The tournament was played to celebrate Sri Lanka's 70th year of independence; the title derives from the Sinhalese නිදහස් nidahas, meaning "freedom." Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed that the matches would be played as Twenty20 International fixtures. The fixtures and venue were announced in November 2017, with all the matches played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This was the first occasion that Discovery Networks Asia Pacific channel DSport acquired media rights to broadcast live cricket matches involving the Indian cricket team.

The New Zealand A cricket team toured India in September and October 2017. On this tour they played two first-class matches and five limited-overs matches against the India A team. New Zealand A was captained by Henry Nicholls. The two first-class matches were played at the ACA–KDCA Cricket Ground and the limited overs matches at ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

The South Africa cricket team toured Australia in October and November 2018 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International (T20I) match. Ahead of the ODI series, a 50-over practice match took place at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Ahead of the T20I match, a 20-over practice match took place in Brisbane. In April 2018, it was confirmed that the Carrara Stadium would host its first ever international cricket match.

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Bangladesh in October 2018 to play two Tests and three One Day International (ODI) matches. Bangladesh won the ODI series 3–0. Bangladesh's regular Test captain, Shakib Al Hasan, was unavailable due to injury. Therefore, Mahmudullah was named as captain of the squad in his absence.

2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League Cricket tournament

The 2018–19 BPL season, also known as BPL 6 or UCB BPL 2019 Powered by TVS, was the sixth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top level professional Twenty20 cricket franchise league in Bangladesh. The competition was organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), featuring seven teams from seven cities. Teams are restricted to having four overseas players per side, instead of five in the previous edition of the tournament. Rangpur Riders were the defending champions.

In July and August 2018, South Africa A cricket team visited India to play two first-class matches against India A. India A won the two-match series 1–0. They were joined by India B and Australia A cricket team for a List-A Quadrangular Series in August. India-B defeated Australia-A in the final to win the series. After Quadrangular series, Australia-A played two first-class matches against India A.The two-match series was drawn 1-1.

Sri Lanka A cricket team played 3 first-class matches and 3 List A matches against Bangladesh A cricket team in June and July 2018.

The Bangladesh A cricket team toured Ireland to play 5 Unofficial ODIs and 3 Unofficial T20s in August 2018.

The 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the third edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was held in Karachi, Pakistan and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Eight teams participated in the tournament including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and top three teams from 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. This tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Initially, Pakistan was sole host for the tournament but India and BCCI refused to send Indian players to Pakistan. Following the increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, ACC announced that Sri Lanka would be the co-host whilst India's matches and knockout stage will be played there. The U-23 teams from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals. Sri Lanka's U-23 defeated India U-23 by 3 runs in the final to win the tournament.

2019 Ireland Tri-Nation Series International cricket tournament

The 2019 Ireland Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that was held from 5 to 17 May in Ireland. It was a tri-nation series featuring Bangladesh, Ireland and the West Indies, with all the matches played as One Day Internationals (ODIs). The ODI fixtures were part of Bangladesh and West Indies' preparation for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Bangladesh also played a 50-over warm-up match against Ireland A on 5 May 2019.

2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series Cricket tournament

The 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in September 2019. It was a tri-nation series between Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The Bangladesh cricket team toured India in November 2019 to play two Test and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The Test series formed part of the inaugural 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship. It was the second time that Bangladesh toured India to play a Test series, and the first time that Bangladesh played a T20I series against India in India. The Test series also featured the first day/night match to be played by either side.
