Irvan Bastian Arief is an Indonesian data scientist, academic, [1] [2] and technology executive. He is has done research in artificial intelligence and machine learning, including creating the RUP and DA-HOC machine learning algorithms. [3] [4] He currently is vice president at the Indonesian travel technology company tiket.com and is part of the Monash University Indonesia Industry Advisory Board for Master of Data Science. [5]
Arief received a PhD in Computer Science from RMIT University in Australia, where his doctoral research focused on developing machine learning algorithms for predicting room occupancy using carbon dioxide (CO2) sensor data. [6] He also holds a Master of Business Information Systems from Monash University. [3] [7] [8]
Arief began his career at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) where he gained experience in high-precision manufacturing environments. He also worked at General Electric (GE) and Tokopedia early in his career. [9]
In 2020, he joinedAt tiket.com, where he has been involved in machine learning applications in the travel tech sector, including the development of an AI-based itinerary planning tool. [2]
