He is the bronze medallist of the 2017 Judo Grand Slam Ekaterinburg in the 66 kg category. [3]

Shmailov will represent Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in judo in the men's 66 kg event on 28 July 2024, and in the mixed team event.
