Islamiyat Adebukola Yusuf (born 3 March 2003) [1] is a Nigerian weightlifter, who competes in the 63/64 kg category and represents Nigeria at international competitions. In August 2022, she won bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. [2] [3] [4]

The 2014 Commonwealth Games, was a multi-sport event held in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July to 3 August 2014. It was the first time that Glasgow hosted the games, and the third time it was hosted in Scotland after Edinburgh hosted in 1970 and 1986. Saikhom Mirabai Chanu is an Indian weightlifter. Mirabai Chanu lifted a total of 201 kg, winning the gold medal at the CWG 2022. She won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Women's 49 kg category. Mirabai Chanu has won the World Championships and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions to the sport. She was awarded the sporting honour Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna by the Government of India in 2018.

Santoshi Matsa is an Indian weightlifter who won the silver medal in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. Matsa had originally finished in bronze medal position, but the gold medal winner Chika Amalaha of Nigeria failed a drug test, elevating Matsa to silver medal position. Santoshi lifted a total of 188 kg — 83 kg in snatch and 105 in clean and jerk.

Chika Joy Amalaha is a Nigerian weightlifter. In 2019 she tested positive for metenolone and is banned until 2027 by the International Weightlifting Federation.

Vaipava Nevo Ioane is a Samoan weightlifter. He competed in the men's 62 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Sarah Davies is a British weightlifter, competing in the 64 kg and 69 kg categories internationally and representing England and Great Britain at international competitions. She won the silver medal in the women's 71 kg event at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Emily Campbell is a British weightlifter, the most successful British weightlifter of modern times. In 2021, competing in the +87 kg category, Campbell became both European champion, and the first British woman to win an Olympic medal in the sport, with silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In 2022 she retained her European title, won the Gold medal at her home Commonwealth Games in a new Commonwealth Games record, and upgraded her 2021 World Championships bronze medal to a silver in Bogota. In 2023, Campbell confirmed a hat-trick of three successive European titles, before winning her fourth title in 2024.

Talha Talib is a Pakistani weightlifter from Gujranwala. He is the Pakistani national champion in the 62 kg category. He set a new record at the games in snatch as he lifted 132 kg in the third attempt with 127 kg and 130 kg in the first two attempts, respectively. He was also a gold medalist at the 2016 Commonwealth Youth Weightlifting Championships in Penang. He lifted 258 kg to clinch the gold. He is currently the top No. 1 ranked weightlifter of Pakistan.

Jeremy Lalrinnunga is an Indian weightlifter from Aizawl, Mizoram. He represented India in the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. He won the gold medal in the Boys' 62 kg category weightlifting with a lift of 274 kg. It was India's first gold medal in the Youth Olympic Games. Jeremy won silver medal in Asian weightlifting championship. At the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, Lalrinnunga finished at 21st rank at the Men's 67 kg event. He won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, in the 67 kg category, with a game record lift of 140 kg in snatch and 160 kg in clean and jerk.

Augustina Nwaokolo is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the women's 48 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold medal. Augustina Nwaokolo won the first gold medal of the games which see her setting a new Games record of 175 kg after lifting 77 kg in the snatch and 98 kg in the clean and jerk. This saw her became the first Nigerian teenage weightlifter to achieve that in an International competitions and the Commonwealth Games. The event took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Onyeka Azike is a Nigerian weightlifter. She competed in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, won a silver medal in the women's 53 kg division at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, and won a gold medal in the 58 kg weightlifting category of the 2007 All Africa Games in Algeria.

Rafiatu Folashade Lawal is a Nigerian weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 59 kg event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. In 2019, she represented Nigeria at the African Games held in Rabat, Morocco and she won the gold medal in the women's 59 kg event. She also won the gold medal in her event at the 2021 African Weightlifting Championships held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Shad Darsigny is a Canadian weightlifter. He participated at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the weightlifting competition where he won a bronze medal in the men's 73 kg event.

Liadi Taiwo is a Nigerian weightlifter, who competes in the 76 kg category and represents Nigeria at international competitions. In August 2022, she won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also set a new junior Commonwealth record in the Clean & Jerk.

Mary Taiwo Osijo is a Nigerian weightlifter, who competes in the 87 kg category and represents Nigeria at international competitions. In August 2022, she won bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Edidiong Joseph Umoafia is a Nigerian weightlifter. He participated at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the weightlifting competition, being awarded the bronze medal in the men's 67 kg event.
