Isuri Wijesundara is a Sri Lankan-American actress. She is known for her role as Sachini on the Apple TV+ series Little America.

Early life

Wijesundara grew up in Colombo. [1] She studied at Gateway College. [2]

Wijesundara moved to the U.S. in 2015. [1] She majored in theater at Adelphi University [3] [1] and completed a master's degree at David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. [4]

Career

Wijesundara participated in a March 2019 performance of Marjana and the Forty Thieves, an adaptation of One Thousand and One Nights . [5] [6] Abigail Weil of The Theatre Times wrote that Wijesundara "was simultaneously seductive and approachable, a real Scheherazade." [6]

In December 2022, Wijesundara starred as Sachini in "The 9th Caller", an episode in the second season of the Apple TV+ series Little America. [7] Craig Matheson of The Sydney Morning Herald described the episode as "an alternately bittersweet and blithe struggle for recognition in a Sri Lankan clan." [8]

Personal life

Wijesundara is fluent in Sinhala and English. [1]

Heart FM is a 2008 Sri Lankan Sinhala family drama film directed by Senesh Dissanaike Bandara and produced by Soma Edirisinghe for EAP Films. It stars Gayan Wickramathillaka, Kanchana Mendis and Sachini Ayendra in lead roles along with Aruna Liyan and Mahendra Perera. Music co-composed by Centigradz and Nawarathne Gamage. EAP Group also celebrated 50th anniversary of E.A.P. films with the production of this film. It is the 1099th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema.

Dharmayuddhaya is a 2017 Sri Lankan Sinhala-language crime thriller film directed by Cheyyar Ravi and produced by MTV Channel and The Capital Maharaja Organization Limited, and distributed by M Entertainments. It is a shot-for-shot remake of the Indian Malayalam-language film Drishyam (2013) starring Mohanlal by Jeethu Joseph. The film stars Jackson Anthony and Dilhani Ekanayake in the lead roles and features Kusum Renu, Kumara Thirimadura, Thisuri Yuwanika and Roshan Pilapitiya in supporting roles.
