It's Great to be Young is the third comedy album released by Northern Irish comedian and actor James Young.
The album cover features a picture taken by Stanley Matchett of Young in drag seated on a bench in the grounds of the City Hall, Belfast. The back cover features sleeve notes by Young.
Emerald Music re-released the album in 1999 in a four-disc boxset to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Young's death. The album was boxed with three of Young's other comedy albums ( Young at Heart , James Young Sings Ulster Party Pieces and James Young's 4th ). The album was marketed as James Young: Ireland's Greatest Comic Legend Volume 2. [1]

In Canada, it reached No. 1 on the RPM national singles chart for the first time on April 8, 1972, on which date Young held the top spot on both the singles and albums charts. Billboard ranked it as the No. 17 song for 1972. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked it No. 297 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time, No. 303 in an updated 2010 list, and No. 259 in 2021.
"Got My Mind Set on You" is a song written and composed by Rudy Clark and originally recorded by James Ray in 1962, under the title "I've Got My Mind Set on You". An edited version of the song was released later in the year as a single on the Dynamic Sound label credited to James Ray with Hutch Davie Orchestra & Chorus.
The Commitments is a 1991 musical comedy-drama film based on the 1987 novel of the same name by Roddy Doyle. It was directed by Alan Parker from a screenplay written by Doyle, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. Set in the Northside of Dublin, the film tells the story of Jimmy Rabbitte, a young music fanatic who assembles a group of working-class youths to form a soul band named "The Commitments". The film is the first in a series known as The Barrytown Trilogy, followed by The Snapper (1993) and The Van (1996).
