Ithaka Maria Harito (born Gyrcelea-Ithaka-Maria Pruuli in Tallinn on 21 June 1979; former surname Rahula) is an Estonian singer and songwriter. [1]

She has been studied in Georg Ots Tallinn Music College (1994-1996) and in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. [1]

She has been a member in bands Best B4 (1996-1997) and Slobodan River (2000-2006). [1]

She has been the host for the television series Eesti otsib superstaari . [1]

Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 with the song "Keelatud maa" written by Harmo Kallaste and Kaari Sillamaa. The song was performed by Maarja who had previously represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 alongside Ivo Linna, where she placed fifth with the song "Kaelakee hääl". The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Televisioon (ETV) organised the national final Eurolaul1997 in order to select the Estonian entry for the 1997 contest in Dublin, Ireland. Eight songs competed in the national final and "Keelatud maa" performed by Maarja was selected as the winner by a jury panel.

The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the Estonian Academy of Music. In 1995 the Drama Faculty was renamed the Higher Theatre School.

Eesti otsib superstaari(Estonia is Searching for a Superstar) is an Estonian reality-competition gameshow airing on TV3. It debuted on 11 March 2007 and it has since become one of the most popular shows in Estonia. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by the British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.

Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Rockefeller Street" written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was performed by Getter Jaani. The Estonian broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) organised the national final Eesti Laul 2011 in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. Ten songs competed in each semi-final and the top five from each semi-final as determined by a jury panel and public vote qualified to the final. In the final, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, a jury panel and a public vote selected the top two to qualify to the superfinal. In the superfinal, "Rockefeller Street" performed by Getter Jaani was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote.
