Zoran Milanović is a Croatian politician who has been serving as the president of Croatia since 2020. Prior to assuming the presidency, he was prime minister of Croatia from 2011 to 2016, as well as the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from 2007 to 2016.
Rivers of Justice is a centre-left political alliance in Croatia. Gathered around the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP), the coalition was originally formed in 2010 as the Kukuriku coalition. This somewhat facetious name meaning 'cock-a-doodle-doo', taken from a restaurant of the same name in Kastav where the coalition leaders first convened in July 2009, became well known and was eventually taken as the coalition's official name. The coalition originally consisted of four centrist and centre-left parties in the Croatian Parliament: the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP), Croatian People's Party – Liberal Democrats (HNS-LD), Croatian Party of Pensioners (HSU) and Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS). The coalition won an absolute majority of seats in the 2011 parliamentary election and successfully formed a government led by Zoran Milanović (SDP).
Ruža Tomašić is a Croatian politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament from July 2013 to June 2021, having been elected to the position three times. Upon her withdrawal from the Parliament, she retired from politics altogether.
Presidential elections were held in Croatia on 28 December 2014 and 11 January 2015, the sixth such elections since independence in 1991. Only four candidates contested the elections, the lowest number since 1997. Incumbent president Ivo Josipović, who had been elected as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in 2009–2010, was eligible to seek reelection for a second and final five-year term and ran as an independent. As no candidate received 50% of the vote in the first round in December 2014, a run-off took place in January 2015 between the two candidates with the most votes, Josipović and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Grabar-Kitarović went on to win the elections by a slim margin of 32,509 votes or 1.48%, making her Croatia's first female president.
Presidential elections were held in Croatia in December 2019 and January 2020. The decision to call the elections was made by the Croatian Government during its session on 14 November 2019. Potential candidates were required to gather at least 10,000 signatures from Croatian citizens who have reached the age of 18 in order for their candidacy to become official and for their name to appear on the ballot. They were allocated a time frame of twelve days to accomplish this and thus had until midnight local time on 3 December 2019 to present their signatures to the State Electoral Commission. A total of twelve candidates submitted signatures by the deadline and the commission then proceeded to verify the signatures within the following 48 hours, presenting a final list of eleven approved candidates on 5 December 2019.
New Left was a social-democratic and democratic socialist political party in Croatia. It also promotes anti-fascism, environmentalism, and progressivism on social issues.
Centre is a liberal political party in Croatia. The party was formed under the name Pametno in Split in 2015 out of the citizens' initiative Za pametne ljude i pametan grad. The fundamental values endorsed by the party are the promotion of democracy, accountable and transparent management of public resources, civil proactive protection of fundamental human rights, economic development and environmental protection.
The 2024 European Parliament elections in Croatia were held on 9 June 2024 as part of the 2024 European Parliament election. This was the fourth parliamentary election since Croatia's EU accession in 2013, and the first to take place after Brexit.

The Green–Left Coalition was a left-wing electoral alliance in Croatia represented by six MPs. It is presently composed of the We Can! – Political Platform and New Left, as well some localist political parties and platforms, such as Zagreb is OURS! and For the City movements from City of Zagreb and Srđ is the City! from Dubrovnik. It promotes democratic socialism, green politics, and progressivism on social issues.
We Can! – Political Platform is a left-wing, green political party in Croatia formed by local green and leftist movements and initiatives in order to act on the national level for European Parliament and parliament elections. After the 2021 local elections in Zagreb, they became the largest political party in the Zagreb Assembly, winning 23 seats in total. Their mayoral candidate Tomislav Tomašević won a landslide victory on 31 May 2021.
Tomislav Tomašević is a Croatian politician, activist, environmentalist and political scientist who is serving as mayor of Zagreb since 2021. He is one of the leaders of the local Zagreb is OURS! political party and the national We Can! political party. Since the 2017 Zagreb local elections, he has been a delegate in the Zagreb Assembly. He was also elected to the Croatian Parliament in the 2020 election. He serves as the de facto leader of the Green–Left Coalition.
Jelena Pavičić Vukičević is a Croatian politician who served as president of the Bandić Milan 365 - Labour and Solidarity Party. She assumed the position following the death of the previous party president, Milan Bandić, on 28 February 2021. Pavičić Vukičević also assumed Bandić's role of the mayor of Zagreb, which she served until the 4 June 2021, following her loss at the 2021 Zagreb mayoral elections.
Elections were held in Zagreb on 16 May 2021 for the 53rd mayor of Zagreb, the two deputy mayors, the 47 members of the Zagreb Assembly, the councils of districts and the local committees, as part of the 2021 Croatian local elections. The runoff for the mayor took place on 30 May 2021.

Katarina Peović Vuković is a Croatian politician and media and culture researcher. From March to September 2018, she was a representative of the Workers' Front party in Zagreb Assembly. On January 21, 2019, Katarina Peović announced her candidacy for the Croatian presidential election in 2019 as a candidate of the Workers' Front party, and established media presence in the candidates' confrontations. In the 2020 parliamentary elections, she was elected as a member of the Croatian Parliament on the platform of the Green–Left Coalition.

Zagreb protest was a political protest organized in Zagreb, Croatia, on 17 February 2024 by a coalition of 11 left-wing, liberal opposition parties against the government of Andrej Plenković and the Croatian Democratic Union. The protest was held under the name "Enough! Let's go to the elections!".
Sandra Benčić is a Croatian politician and civil rights and gender equality activist who is serving as a Member of Parliament since 2020. She is a member of the green-left political platform We Can! since its foundation and has been serving as one of its two coordinators since 2023, together with Tomislav Tomašević.
