The film is based on the novel of the same name by Baiq and is the sequel to Dilan 1991 released in 2019. The film is a spin-off, having its point of view from Dilan and displaying events uncaptured in the previous two films. Satan's Slaves 2: Communion also referred to as Satan's Slaves 2 is a 2022 Indonesian supernatural horror film written and directed by Joko Anwar. It is the sequel to the 2017 film Satan's Slaves, itself based on the 1980 film Satan's Slave. It is the first Indonesian film to be released in IMAX format. Upon its release, Anwar indicated plans for a possible third installment in the series.
On 1 October 2022, a fatal human crush occurred following an association football match at Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Following a loss by home side Arema to rivals Persebaya Surabaya, around 3,000 Arema supporters invaded the pitch. Police said the rioting supporters attacked the players and the team officials. The police attempted to protect the players and stop the riot but the crowds clashed with the security forces. In response, riot police units deployed tear gas, which triggered a stampede of people in the stadium trying to escape from the effects of the gas. A crush formed at an exit, resulting in fans being asphyxiated.

Agak Laen is a 2024 Indonesian comedy horror film directed and written by Muhadkly Acho. The film was produced by Dipa Andika and Ernest Prakasa with Imajinari and Jagartha production companies. It starred Bene Dion, Boris Bokir, Oki Rengga, and Indra Jegel as a group of friends who started a haunted house business, and featuring Tissa Biani, Indah Permatasari, Arie Kriting, and Mamat Alkatiri.
