Horace Mann School is a private, independent college-preparatory school in the Bronx, founded in 1887. Horace Mann is a member of the Ivy Preparatory School League, educating students from the New York metropolitan area from nursery school to the twelfth grade. The Upper, Middle, and Lower Divisions are located in Riverdale, a neighborhood of the Bronx, while the Nursery School is located in Manhattan. The John Dorr Nature Laboratory, a 275 acres (111 ha) campus in Washington Depot, Connecticut, serves as the school's outdoor and community education center. Tuition for the 2023–24 school year from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve is $61,900 per annum, not including some additional fees, one of which exceeds $1,000.
Collegiate School is a private school for boys in New York City. It claims to be the oldest school in the United States. It is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and is a member of both the New York Interschool and the Ivy Preparatory School League. In 2023–2024, tuition fees totaled $63,400 per year.

Hackley School is a private college preparatory school located in Tarrytown, New York, and is a member of the Ivy Preparatory School League. Founded in 1899 by a wealthy philanthropist, Frances Hackley, the school was intended to be a Unitarian alternative to Episcopal boarding schools. Since its founding, Hackley has dropped its Unitarian affiliations and changed from all-boys to coeducational.

Ian McGinnis is an American former basketball player for Dartmouth College's men's basketball team. He is best known for leading NCAA Division I in rebounding during his sophomore season in 1998–99. He averaged 12.2 rebounds per game and was the first Dartmouth player to average a double-digit number of rebounds in 38 years. To date, McGinnis is the only Dartmouth player to have ever led the nation in this statistical category.
