The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
The NCAA basketball championships are the basketball championships of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). There are two tournaments, usually held at the same time, the seniors' tournament for male collegiate students, and the juniors' tournament for male senior high school students. If a school wins both championships in one season, it said that they have won the "double championship."
UAAP Season 68 was the 2005–06 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. Several events were held, the most prominent was the basketball tournament. The La Salle Green Hills Greenies, officially the Benilde–LSGH Greenies, is the varsity team representing La Salle Green Hills as the junior affiliate team of the St. Benilde Blazers in the [[NCAA (Philippines)|NCAA] The Greenies do not have a girls' team.
Suwon KT Sonicboom is a professional basketball club based in Suwon, South Korea which plays in the Korean Basketball League. Their home games are played at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena. Founded in 1997, the team was initially based in Gwangju and was later relocated to Yeosu, Busan and Suwon, respectively.

UAAP Season 73 is the 2010–2011 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by De La Salle University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments were aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23 for the eleventh consecutive year following the renewal of the contract for the broadcast of the games. The opening ceremonies were held on July 10, 2010 with the opening game pitting the season host and the UP Fighting Maroons.
The Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup, formerly known as the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup and also known as the Filoil EcoOil ECJ Preseason Cup in 2024, is a pre-season collegiate basketball tournament in the Philippines. It is contested by teams mainly from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), there have also been some invited teams such as the RP Youth under-18 team and teams from other associations.
The 2017 basketball tournaments of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, otherwise known as the NCAA Season 93, which started on July 8, 2017, at Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay. Same as the last year's opener, the defending champions San Beda Red Lions will open their title defense bid as they will battle the season's hosts San Sebastian Stags at the first game, and at the second game the Arellano Chiefs will open their first season without Jio Jalalon as they take on the Mapúa Cardinals.

Jerom Lastimosa is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Magnolia Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He played college basketball for the Adamson Soaring Falcons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) from Seasons 81 to 86. He has also played for the Philippines men's national basketball team.
Carl Vincent Cabellon Tamayo is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Changwon LG Sakers of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He played college basketball for the UP Fighting Maroons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He has won championships in the juniors and seniors division of the UAAP, and has played for the Philippine national team multiple times. He is listed at 6 feet 8 inches.
Rhenz Joseph Mamuyac Abando is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters of the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

Francis Leo S. "Lebron" Lopez is a Filipino-Angolan college basketball player for the UP Fighting Maroons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). After breaking out in the Philippine high school basketball scene, he was set to play in the Overtime Elite (OTE) league, but due to visa issues, never got to play there. Instead, he committed to play for UP where he won the Rookie of the Year in UAAP Season 86 and was part of the UP team that won the UAAP Season 87 championship.
The UAAP Season 87 basketball tournaments are the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournaments for the 2024–25 school year. The University of the Philippines Diliman are the hosts.
