JP Hornick is a Canadian labour leader and the current President of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). Hornick was elected to the role April 2022 succeeding Warren (Smokey) Thomas. [1] Hornick is also the current Coordinator of the School of Labour at George Brown College. [2]
Hornick serves as a board member of Red Dress Productions,a community arts organization,which investigates the relationship between community narratives and urban public space. [3]
In September 2000,Hornick was arrested on a liquor license violation following a Toronto Police raid on a women's bathhouse organized by the Toronto Women's Bathhouse Committee,a project of the AIDS Committee of Toronto. Charges were dismissed by a judge in 2002,citing a violation of constitutional rights during the raid. [4] That same year,Hornick was named co-Grand Marshall Toronto Pride Parade. [5]

The Pussy Palace Raid occurred on September 14,2000,when Toronto police raided a lesbian bathhouse known as the "Pussy Palace" during the "2000 Pussies" event. Two undercover female police officers attended and investigated the event prior to the raid. Five plainclothes male police officers then entered and searched the club,including private rooms. There were around 350 women in attendance at the time,many of whom were nude or semi-clad.
Yolanda McClean is a Canadian library technician and trade unionist. Since 2021,She has been the Secretary-Treasurer of the Canadian Union of Public Employees in Ontario,which is the largest union in the province. She is also the Executive Vice-president at the Ontario Federation of Labour. She is the first Black Canadian to hold either position. She began her career in 1984 as a library technician in the Toronto District School Board.
