Victorin Lurel is a French politician who represented the 4th district of Guadeloupe in the French National Assembly from 2002 to 2012. He also served as the President of the Regional Council of the French overseas department of Guadeloupe from 2004 until 2015. His term began on 15 August 2004 and was renewed on 14 March 2010. In May 2012, he was made the Minister of Overseas France in Jean-Marc Ayrault's cabinet and was replaced in the national assembly by his supplementary candidate Hélène Vainqueur-Christophe. However, on 23 March 2014, he lost the local elections in Vieux-Habitants, and as of 2 April 2014, he was not reappointed to the Valls Cabinet. On December 13, 2015, he lost the regional elections in Guadeloupe.

Dominique Mocka is an association footballer from Guadeloupe. Mocka can operate in midfield or as a forward and currently plays for JS Vieux-Habitants and the Guadeloupe football team. He is the brother of fellow Guadeloupe and JS Vieux-Habitants striker Erick Mocka.

Stade Municipal de Vieux-Habitants is a football stadium in Vieux-Habitants, Guadeloupe. It has a capacity of 1,000 and is currently used by the Guadeloupe Division d'Honneur's reigning champions, JS Vieux-Habitants. Habitation La Grivelière is a coffee plantation and coffeehouse in Vieux-Habitants, Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, an overseas region of France. Founded in the late 17th century, it has been classified as a Monument historique since 1987. The plantation is located along the Grande Rivière des Vieux-Habitants within the Guadeloupe National Park, at 200 meters (660 ft) above sea level. It operates under the auspices of Association Verte Vallée. One of the buildings has been re-purposed into a coffeehouse. It is one of the best preserved agricultural estates in the Lesser Antilles. Habitation La Grivelière contains a dozen buildings including a manor house, overseer's house, houses of permanent workers, two boucans, a roasting shed, mills, an oratory and five slave huts.

Its course starts at the Petit Sans Toucher before it passes through the town of Vieux-Habitants where it separates into two branches before emptying into the Caribbean Sea. Habitation La Grivelière is located in the river valley.
