John "Jack" Hather was an English professional football outside-left who played for Scottish club Aberdeen.

Contents

Born in Annfield Plain, County Durham, Hather joined Aberdeen in December 1948. He was part of the Aberdeen team who won the 1955 Scottish League championship and the 1955 Scottish League Cup. [1]

After leaving Aberdeen in 1960, he moved back to the North East of England to play for amateur club Blackhall F.C.

James Leighton is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Leighton started his career with Aberdeen, where he won seven domestic trophies and the 1982–83 European Cup Winners' Cup under the management of Alex Ferguson. Ferguson then signed Leighton for Manchester United in 1988, but dropped him after he conceded three goals in the 1990 FA Cup Final. Leighton then had spells with Arsenal, Reading, Dundee and Sheffield United, and rebuilt his career after joining Hibernian in 1993. He returned to Aberdeen in 1997, leading to a career total of over 600 appearances in the league alone.

Martin McLean Buchan is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a centre back. Born in Aberdeen, he played for Aberdeen, Manchester United and Oldham Athletic. He also played in 34 international matches for Scotland between 1971 and 1978 including at two World Cups. Buchan later managed Burnley.

Duncan Nichol Shearer is a Scottish former footballer, currently coaching the 'Development squad' at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. During his playing career, Shearer predominantly played for Huddersfield Town, Swindon Town, Aberdeen and Inverness.
