John Ralph "Jack" Hayden ECA (born c. 1950) is a Canadian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta,who represented the constituency of Drumheller-Stettler as a Progressive Conservative from 2007 to 2012.
Hayden was elected to his second term representing the constituents of Drumheller-Stettler with 69 per cent of the vote in the 2008 provincial election. He was appointed as Minister of Infrastructure after the election by Premier Ed Stelmach. [2]
Hayden was first elected in a 2007 by-election,winning 58 per cent of the vote,to fill a spot left vacant when Shirley McClellan,a 20-year veteran of the Legislature,resigned. In 2006,he was rural campaign chair for Premier Ed Stelmach's leadership bid. [3]
Before entering provincial politics,Hayden was involved in municipal government. He was a councillor and reeve in the County of Stettler. Hayden was elected president of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties in 1998,and remained president until he vacated his position are reeve in 2004.
Hayden represented rural interests on numerous committees,including Prime Minister Paul Martin's External Advisory Committee on Cities and Communities,and numerous provincial advisory boards. He was placed on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Roll of Honour in 2006,after serving on the board of directors for six years.
Hayden lives on a farm near Endiang. Jack has three grown children.
In 2002,he was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal,honouring his service to community. [2]

Cypress-Medicine Hat is a provincial electoral district in the southeast corner of Alberta.
The 26th Alberta Legislative Assembly was in session from March 1, 2005, to February 4, 2008, with the membership of the assembly determined by the results of the 2004 Alberta general election held on November 22, 2004. The Legislature officially resumed on March 1, 2005, and continued until the fourth session was prorogued and dissolved on February 4, 2008, prior to the 2008 Alberta general election on March 3, 2008.
Drumheller-Stettler is a provincial electoral district (riding) in Alberta, Canada. The electoral district is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district was created in the 2003 boundary redistribution and came into force in 2004 from the old districts of Drumheller-Chinook and Lacombe-Stettler.
Shirley McClellan is a Canadian politician who was a long serving member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for 20 years. She served as Deputy Premier.
Edward Michael Stelmach is a Canadian politician who served as the 13th premier of Alberta, from 2006 to 2011. The grandson of Ukrainian immigrants, Stelmach was born and raised on a farm near Lamont and fluently speaks the distinctive Canadian dialect of Ukrainian. He spent his entire pre-political adult life as a farmer, except for some time spent studying at the University of Alberta. His first foray into politics was a 1986 municipal election, when he was elected to Lamont County council. A year into his term, he was appointed reeve. He continued in this position until his entry into provincial politics.

Iris Sylvia Evans is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations for the Canadian province.
