Jack Wallace (born June 24, 1998) is an African-American ice sled hockey player. He was a member of the gold medal-winning US team at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Paralympics.

Career

Wallace's disability stems from an amputation of his right leg above the knee after a water skiing accident in youth. [1]

A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Wallace grew up in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey graduated from Indian Hills High School in 2016. [2] He graduated from The College Of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in 2020.[ citation needed ]

At the 2022 Winter Paralympics, he won a second gold medal with Team USA. He was voted best defenseman in the Paralympic tournament.[ citation needed ]

Players are seated on sleds and use special hockey sticks with metal "teeth" on the tips of their handles to navigate the ice. Playing venues use an ice hockey rink.

He won a gold medal with the American team at the 2014 Winter Paralympics and was also the member of the US ice hockey team which secured record 4th Winter Paralympic gold medal during the 2018 Winter Paralympics. Carron was banned for 18 months between March 2018 and September 2019 after testing positive for methadone at the 2018 Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang. He was also stripped of the gold medal won at the Games.
