Jacqueline Barron is a New Zealand sports administrator and school principal. [1] [2]

Biography

Barron was born in Whakatane, in the North Island of New Zealand. [3]

As a sports administrator, Barron has managed the Southern Steel netball team and the New Zealand under-21 netball team. She was manager of New Zealand's women's rugby team, the Black Ferns, when they won the 2002 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was also manager of New Zealand's netball team, the Silver Ferns, from 2005 to 2009. [1] In 2013 Barron was appointed to the board of Sport New Zealand and served two terms. [2] In 2019 she was elected to New Zealand Football's executive committee. [4]

Barron has held a number of senior leadership positions at New Zealand high schools. She has been deputy principal of Gore High School, principal of Woodford House, Havelock North, and in 2015 became principal of St Hilda's Collegiate School in Dunedin. [1] [5]

Recognition

In the 2017 Queen's Birthday Honours Barron was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her service to sports governance and education. [1]

Janine Southby Brown is a retired New Zealand netball player who then coached the national Silver Ferns netball team. She was also the coach of the Southern Steel in the ANZ Championship. Southby played for the Western Flyers in the National Bank Cup competition from 1997–2001, before transferring to the Dunedin-based Otago Rebels in 2002. In 2015, Southby was given the role as head coach for the New Zealand netball team the Silver Ferns. Southby had resigned on July 20th 2018 where the independent review found fault in Southby's coaching style.

Kayla Malvina Johnson is a New Zealand netball player. As a high school student, Cullen played representative netball and basketball, and competed at a national level in athletics. In 2008, she was selected in the New Zealand U21 netball team, and was a member of the side that finished second at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships, behind Australia.

Whanganui High School School

Whanganui High School is a large state co-educational New Zealand secondary school located in Whanganui, New Zealand. Founded in 1958, the school has a roll of 1479 students, including international students as of July 2018, making it the largest school in Whanganui.

Storm Purvis is a New Zealand netball player who plays for the Silver Ferns internationally, and for the Northern Stars in the ANZ Premiership. She plays in the GD and GK positions.

Melodie Bosman is a former New Zealand female rugby union player. She played internationally for New Zealand and provincially for Canterbury.

Kate Alexandra Heffernan is a New Zealand netballer and cricketer. In netball, she currently plays for Southern Steel in wing defence, centre and wing attack. In cricket, she played as a left-arm medium bowler for Otago, as well as making two Twenty20 International appearances for New Zealand.

Ashley Bloomfield New Zealand director-general of public health

Ashley Robin Bloomfield is a New Zealand public health official. He is the chief executive of the Ministry of Health and the country's Director-General of Health. He has been the public-facing health specialist liaising with the media during the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand on behalf of the government, since the first press conference on 27 January 2020. He will step down from his role at the Ministry of Health at the end of July 2022.

Sheryl Wells New Zealand sports administrator

Sheryl, Lady Wells is a New Zealand sports administrator. She is the former manager of the national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and the past president of Netball New Zealand.

Annette Heffernan is a former netball player who played for New Zealand on nine occasions between 1985 and 1990.
