Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, former vocalist Anders Colsefni and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Gray, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows.

Visual kei, abbreviated v-kei, is a category of Japanese musicians that have a strong focus on extravagant stage costumes that originated in Japan during the early 1980s. Koji Dejima of Bounce wrote that visual kei is not a specific sound, but rather it "revolves around the creation of a band's unique worldview and/or stylistic beauty through visual expressions in the form of makeup and fashion". While visual kei acts can be of any music genre, it originated with bands influenced by glam rock, heavy metal, punk rock and gothic rock.
A rivethead or rivet head is a person associated with the industrial dance music scene. In stark contrast to the original industrial culture, whose performers and heterogeneous audience were sometimes referred to as "industrialists", the rivethead scene is a coherent youth culture closely linked to a discernible fashion style. The scene emerged in the late 1980s on the basis of electro-industrial, EBM, and industrial rock music. The associated dress style draws on military fashion and punk aesthetics with hints of fetish wear, mainly inspired by the scene's musical protagonists.

Call the Devil is the upcoming ninth studio album by metal band Mushroomhead. It is set to be released on August 9, 2024. The album is considered a continuation of their experimental and alternative metal style from previous album A Wonderful Life, deviating from early nu metal influences to form a more accessible record. It is the first album to feature guitarist Joe "Jenkins" Gaal, vocalist Scott Beck and drummer Aydin Kerr. In addition, it serves as the return of guitarist Dave "Gravy" Felton. It is produced by long-time member Steve "Skinny" Felton, mixed by Matt Wallace and mastered by Jacob Hansen. The first single released was "Fall In Line" on June 13, 2024, followed by "Prepackaged" on July 10.
