Jackson Kiprop (born 20 October 1986) is a Ugandan long distance runner who specialises in the marathon. [1] He competed in the marathon event at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. [2]
A half marathon is a road running event of 21.0975 kilometres —half the distance of a marathon. It is common for a half marathon event to be held concurrently with a marathon or a 5K race, using almost the same course with a late start, an early finish or shortcuts. If finisher medals are awarded, the medal or ribbon may differ from those for the full marathon. The half marathon is also known as a 21K, 21.1K or 13.1 miles, although these values are rounded and not formally correct.

He was awarded the 1500 m gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics after the original winner, Rashid Ramzi, tested positive for doping. Kiprop has won three World Championship titles in the event, in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Kiprop failed his own doping test in November 2017 and received a four-year doping ban.

Nancy Jepkosgei Kiprop is a Kenyan long-distance runner. She won the Vienna City Marathon in 2017, 2018 and in 2019. In 2019 she also set a new course record of 2:22:12.
