Jackson Edwin Reasor Jr. (born November 13,1952) is an American lawyer and politician who served as a member of the Virginia state senate from 1992 until his resignation in 1998 to become CEO of the Old Dominion Electric Cooperative. [1]
Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson was a Confederate general during the American Civil War,and became one of the best-known Confederate commanders,after Robert E. Lee. He played a prominent role in nearly all military engagements in the Eastern Theater of the war until his death,and had a key part in winning many significant battles. Military historians regard him as one of the most gifted tactical commanders in U.S. history.

The Battle of Hancock was fought during the Confederate Romney Expedition of the American Civil War on January 5 and 6,1862,near Hancock,Maryland. Major General Stonewall Jackson of the Confederate States Army,commanding his own Valley District and Brigadier General William W. Loring's force known as the Confederate Army of the Northwest,began moving against Union Army forces in the Shenandoah Valley area on January 1. After light fighting near Bath,Virginia,Jackson's men reached the vicinity of Hancock late on January 4 and briefly fired on the town with artillery. Union Brigadier General Frederick W. Lander refused a Confederate request to surrender on January 5,and that day and the next saw exchanges of artillery fire between the two sides. The Confederates burned a bridge on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad on January 5,but withdrew on the 7th. Jackson later moved against Romney,Virginia,and occupied the town on January 15 after Union soldiers abandoned it. Romney was ordered abandoned on January 30 by the Confederate States Secretary of War after Loring complained about Jackson's orders.
The Battle of McDowell,also known as the Battle of Sitlington's Hill,was fought on May 8,1862,near McDowell,Virginia,as part of Confederate Major General Stonewall Jackson's 1862 Shenandoah Valley campaign during the American Civil War. After suffering a tactical defeat at the First Battle of Kernstown,Jackson withdrew to the southern Shenandoah Valley. Union forces commanded by Brigadier Generals Robert Milroy and Robert C. Schenck were advancing from what is now West Virginia towards the Shenandoah Valley. After being reinforced by troops commanded by Brigadier General Edward Johnson,Jackson advanced towards Milroy and Schenck's encampment at McDowell. Jackson quickly took the prominent heights of Sitlington's Hill,and Union attempts to recapture the hill failed. The Union forces retreated that night,and Jackson pursued,only to return to McDowell on 13 May. After McDowell,Jackson defeated Union forces at several other battles during his Valley campaign.
Robert EmmettRodes was a Confederate general in the American Civil War,and the first of Robert E. Lee's divisional commanders not trained at West Point. His division led Stonewall Jackson's devastating surprise attack at the Battle of Chancellorsville;Jackson,on his deathbed,recommended that Rodes be promoted to major general. Rodes then served in the corps of Richard S. Ewell at the Battle of Gettysburg and in the Overland Campaign,before that corps was sent to the Shenandoah Valley under Jubal Early,where Rodes was killed at the Third Battle of Winchester.
Richard Brooke Garnett was a career United States Army officer and a Confederate general in the American Civil War. He was court-martialed by Stonewall Jackson for his actions in command of the Stonewall Brigade at the First Battle of Kernstown,and killed during Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Reggie Devon Barlow is an American football coach and former player. Barlow served as the head football coach at Alabama State University from 2007 to 2014 and at Virginia State University from 2016 to 2021. He played professionally as wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for eight season,five for the Jacksonville Jaguars,two for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,and one with the Oakland Raiders. He was used as a secondary wide receiver and punt returner. In 1997,Barlow led the NFL in punt return yards with 555 yards on 43 returns. He is the upcoming head coach of the DC Defenders of the XFL.
The Second Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia was a military organization within the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during much of the American Civil War. It was officially created and named following the Battle of Sharpsburg in 1862,but comprised units in a corps organization for quite some time prior to that. John Tyler was the tenth president of the United States,serving from 1841 to 1845,after briefly holding office as the tenth vice president in 1841. He was elected vice president on the 1840 Whig ticket with President William Henry Harrison,succeeding to the presidency following Harrison's death 31 days after assuming office. Tyler was a stalwart supporter and advocate of states' rights,including regarding slavery,and he adopted nationalistic policies as president only when they did not infringe on the states' powers. His unexpected rise to the presidency posed a threat to the presidential ambitions of Henry Clay and other Whig politicians and left Tyler estranged from both of the nation's major political parties at the time.

Walnut Valley is a historic plantation house and archaeological site located near Highgate,Surry County,Virginia. The property includes a plantation house,a frame slave quarter (1816),a frame kitchen (1816),seven contributing 19th- and 20th-century agricultural and domestic outbuildings and structures,and an archaeological site. The house is a 1+1⁄2-story,four-bay,double-pile,side-gabled frame house on a brick foundation. It measures 40 feet,4 inches,by 30 feet,5 inches and features Federal style decorative elements. The one-story,two-bay frame slave quarter measures 14 feet by 16 feet,and is clad in weatherboard. The contributing outbuildings include a late-19th century storehouse and a granary,well house,silo,and three chicken houses. The property was conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia for the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation on January 14,2004. It is now contained within Chippokes Plantation State Park.
