Jacqueline Otchere (born 5 May 1996) is a German pole vaulter. She is a multiple German champion at the pole vault. [1]
She started athletics at eight years-old and would train with her brothers Julian and Colin at ASV Eppelheim near Heidelberg. She took up the pole vault in 2015. [2]
In June 2018, she won the U23 German Championships in Heilbronn, and represented her country for the first time at the World Cup in London where she set a new personal best clearance of 4.60m. In July 2018, she won her first senior national pole vault title and then was selected for her first major championships, competing at the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin. [3]
Otchere won her second German pole vault national championship title on 4 June 2021. [4] The following year she claimed her first German national indoor title, winning in Leipzig in February 2022. [5]
Competing at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, she reached the final with a 4.50m clearance. [6] In the final she finished tenth overall with a 4.45m clearance. [7]
She was selected for the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome. [8]

She is twice an Olympic gold medalist, three-times a World Champion, the current world record holder in the event, and is widely considered the greatest female pole-vaulter of all time. Isinbayeva was banned from the 2016 Rio Olympics after revelations of an extensive state-sponsored doping programme in Russia, thus dashing her hopes of a grand retirement winning the Olympic gold medal. In 2008, she won the U.S. Olympic trials, setting an American record of 4.92 m and won a silver medal in the Beijing Olympics. She won the gold medal at the London Olympics on August 6, 2012. Track & Field News named her American Female Athlete of the Year for 2008.

Katerina Stefanidi is a Greek pole vaulter. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and has also competed at the 2012 London and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Stefanidi was the 2017 World champion and earned bronze at the 2019 World Championships. At the European Athletics Championships, she has won two gold medals and three silvers. Indoors, she is a two-time World Indoor bronze medallist from 2016 and 2018, was the 2017 European Indoor champion and earned silver at the 2015 European Indoor Championships.
Alysha Eveline Newman is a Canadian track and field athlete who specializes in the pole vault. She is 2024 Summer Olympics bronze medallist and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion, and holds both the Canadian national and Commonwealth Games records in the women's pole vault. Newman represented Canada at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympics, where she won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marked her as the first Canadian woman to medal in pole vaulting at the Olympics. Her vault of 4.85 meters also set a new Canadian national record.

Bridget Williams is an American track and field athlete who competes in the pole vault. Williams grew up training and competing in Artistiic Gymnastics, but started competing pole vaulting at her Junior High school, with some success in high school she earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Virginia. Williams finished fourth at the US national championships in Eugene, Oregon in July 2023. She was selected for the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest in August 2023. She qualified for the final with a clearance of 4.65 metres. She won the gold medal in the pole vault at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. She won the 2024 US Olympic trials with a clearance of 4.73 metres. At the 2024 Paris Olympics games, Williams finished 12th in her heat, resulting in a 22nd place overall, which resulted in her not qualifying to the finals.
