Jahangirabad Media Institute (JMI) is a media institute in India. It was established by the Jahangirabad Education Trust in 2005 and is situated in a pictorial palace of Jahangirabad in Barabanki District in Uttar Pradesh state. [1] It mainly runs courses in electronic media.
It organised two editions of National Student Video Film Festivals at its campus. [2] JMI organized the National Science Film Festival and Competition at Chennai on 4–7 January 2011.[ citation needed ] It also published a research report on the socio-economic conditions of Muslims in India in collaboration with the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi and ActionAid-India. [3]
It has produced many documentaries and news programmes on socially relevant subjects.[ citation needed ] The short science films "Refraction" and "Friction My Friend" produced by JMI students were short listed for the Rashtriya Vigyan Chalachitra Mela and Competition 2012. [4]
Punjabi University is a collegiate state public university located in Patiala, Punjab, India. Dawn Breakers International Film Festival (DBIFF) was an international travelling film festival held in various cities throughout the world from 2007 to 2015. The festival debuted in Phoenix, Arizona and was later held in San Diego, Houston and Zürich. DBIFF was recognized as an important festival and nominated at the 2014 annual list of MovieMaker's "Top 25 Film Festivals of the World" in the Social Cause category. Selected films from this festival has received theatrical distribution, television broadcast and four Academy Award nominations.
Gauhar Raza is an Indian scientist by profession, and a leading Urdu poet, social activist and documentary filmmaker working to popularize the understanding of science among general public, known for his films like Jung-e-Azadi, on the India's First War of Independence, and Inqilab (2008) on Bhagat Singh. The Eastern Fare Music Foundation is a music school, as well as a production and publishing house in Guwahati, Assam, India. The Detroit Windsor International Film Festival (DWIFF), which ran from 2008 to 2012, was a publicly attended film festival held each June in the Detroit–Windsor region, with events taking place in both Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario. The festival was closely associated with Wayne State University as they incorporated their own pre-existing student film festival into the DWIFF and many of the festivities were held on Wayne State's campus in Midtown Detroit.
National Science Film Festival and Competition(Rashtriya Vigyan Chalchitra Mela) is organised by Vigyan Prasar, the Indian Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with Jahangirabad Media Institute as a part of the Indian Science Congress 2011. It is open to individual producers as well as production houses.
KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival is a festival in Amsterdam for animated art, first held in 2007. It is organized by the non-profit KLIK foundation and takes place annually at the Eye Film Institute in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Among the animated art forms featured at KLIK are animated feature films, shorts, commercials, video games, music videos, comics, and installations.
