Jai Prakash Verma was a member of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Gandey Assembly constituency. [1]
He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP); he rejoined the BJP in 15 September 2024. [2] He was a member of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 2023, however, he was suspended by the JMM during the 2024 general election when he contested as an independent candidate against JMM's ally CPI(ML)L's Vinod Kumar Singh in Koderma PC. [3] [4] Verma's father, Jagdish Prasad Kushwaha, who was an Ayurved practitioner was considered as one of the tallest leader of Bhartiya Jana Sangh. Latter had played significant role in establishing Jana Sangh in United Bihar. He was the elder brother of Indian parliamentarian Rati Lal Prasad Verma. [5] Verma is a nephew of Rati Lal Prasad Verma, the six time Member of Indian Parliament from Kodarma PC and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh veteran. [6] [7]
Although India is a parliamentary democracy, the country's politics has become dynastic or with high level of nepotism, possibly due to the absence of party organizations, independent civil-society associations which mobilize support for a party, or centralized financing of elections. The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national, state, regional, and district level. Virendra Kumar Sakhlecha was an Indian politician who served as the 10th Chief Minister Of Madhya Pradesh from 18 January 1978 to 19 January 1980. He was a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He hailed from Neemuch District. The Govt. Medical College in Neemuch was named after him in 2024.

He was appointed as Jharkhand BJP president on 4 July 2023.
R.L.P. Verma was a former member of Lok Sabha and a leader of Bhartiya Janata Party. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Kodarma in Jharkhand state in India for six terms. Verma represented Jamua Assembly constituency once, from where he was elected in legislative assembly elections in 1972, on the ticket of Bhartiya Jana Sangh. However, on the call of Jai Prakash Narayan for Total Revolution, he resigned from his legislative assembly membership and became a part of the "Sampurna Kranti movement". He was made a candidate of Janata Party for Lok Sabha elections in 1977, and was subsequently elected to lower house of Indian Parliament. Verma has represented Kodarma Lok Sabha constituency for five terms, making him the longest serving Member of Parliament (MP) from this constituency. He was one of the two Member of Parliament of BJP during transformation of Jana Sangh into Bhartiya Janata Party. Verma played instrumental role in strengthening Bhartiya Jana Sangh and later Bhartiya Janata Party in Bihar-Jharkhand region.
