Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete is a Tanzanian politician who was the fourth president of Tanzania, in office from 2005 to 2015.
The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is a public university located in Ubungo District, Dar es Salaam Region, Tanzania. It was established in 1961 as an affiliate college of the University of London. The university became an affiliate of the University of East Africa (UEA) in 1963, shortly after Tanzania gained its independence from the United Kingdom. In 1970, UEA split into three independent universities: Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
Edward Ngoyai Lowassa was a Tanzanian politician who was Prime Minister of Tanzania from 2005 to 2008, serving under President Jakaya Kikwete. Lowassa went into record as the first Prime Minister to have been forced to resign by a fraud scandal in the history of Tanzania. Following his resignation President Kikwete was obliged to dissolve his cabinet as required by the Constitution and with minimum delay, constituted a new one under a new Prime Minister, Mizengo Pinda.
The Chama Cha Mapinduzi is the dominant ruling party in Tanzania and the second longest-ruling party in Africa, only after the True Whig Party of Liberia. It was formed in 1977, following the merger of the Tanganyika African National Union (TANU) and the Afro-Shirazi Party (ASP), which were the sole operating parties in mainland Tanzania and the semi-autonomous islands of Zanzibar, respectively.
The Dar es Salaam building collapse occurred during the early hours of Good Friday on 29 March 2013 when a 16-floor residential apartment building collapsed on a nearby mosque compound, killing 36 people and trapping over 60 under the rubble.

By convention, the election was held on the last Sunday of October and was supervised by the National Electoral Commission (NEC). Political campaigns commenced on 22 August and ceased a day before the elections.
Gertrude Pangalile Rwakatare was a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament appointed in 2007 by Jakaya Kikwete, Tanzania's president. She was also the head of Mikocheni B Assemblies of God, a Tanzanian Pentecostal church connected to the Assemblies of God Tanzania.
Tulia Ackson is the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, in office since 2022. She was appointed as a Member of Parliament by President John Magufuli. On the 27th October 2023, she was elected the President of the IPU through the meeting convened at Luanda Angola were she passed other contestants by a great margin, the results that gave Tanzania United Republic a high reputation.

Since Burundi is a landlocked country, almost 80% of its goods are moved through by road to Dar es Salaam Port. Tanzania–Vietnam relations are bilateral relations between Tanzania and Vietnam. Vietnam and Tanzania set up diplomatic relations in 1965. Vietnam maintains an embassy in Dar es Salaam which is mandated to serve all of East Africa. Tanzania does not have an embassy in Vietnam, and the embassy in Beijing is accredited to Vietnam.
Tanzania Mercantile Exchange is a commodity exchange in Tanzania. The commodities exchange is put in place to help various farmers access the domestic and global market better and obtain a fair price in selling of their produce. The exchange is currently undergoing training of their staff and is and has begun pilot trading in Sesame Seeds and Green Grams. The exchange plans to trade in coffee, cashew nuts, sesame, rice, sunflowers and maize, which are all currently traded under the warehouse receipt system. The Capital Market and Securities Authority (CMSA) currently oversees the operations of the exchange and is in the process of educating farmers to use the system, however, many farmers are skeptical to the system.
Damian Zefrin Lubuva has been serving as the chairman of the National Electoral Commission since 19 December 2011. He also served as the 4th Attorney General of Tanzania under Ali Hassan Mwinyi between 1985 and 1993. Along with these posts, Lubuva was also the Attorney General of Zanzibar, Minister for Justice and a Judge in the Tanzanian Court of Appeal.
Muhimbili National Hospital is a 1500-bed public teaching hospital located in Upanga West ward of Ilala District in Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. It is the national referral hospital as well as academic and research facility for the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. It offers speciality care across the spectrum of clinical medicine. About 40% of its beds are for private patients. The hospital employs around 2705 workers including 328 doctors and 946 nurses.
