Jake Kelly, (born 18 June 1990) is a footballer who plays for St. Patrick's CYFC. [2]

Club career

Kelly made his debut for Bray Wanderers on 18 August 2008 in an FAI Cup replay against Dundalk in which he scored in a 3–1 victory. He made a further 12 appearances during the season.

In 2009, Kelly cemented his place in the team and scored 26 goals in 90 league appearances over the next three seasons before he left to join St Patrick's Athletic for the 2012 season.

Kelly signed for St Patrick's Athletic in February 2012. He was shown a straight red card in his league debut against his old club Bray Wanderers following a clash with Dane Massey. Kelly provided a wonderful assist for Christy Fagan to make it 5–1 against rivals Shamrock Rovers at Richmond Park [3]

Following his release from St. Pats, Kelly had short spells at Bray and Dundalk.

Having previously worked with Bohemians manager Keith Long at Bray Wanderers, Kelly joined Bohemians midway through the 2015 season. [4] He left Bohs at the end of 2016 before joining Longford Town for the 2017 season.

On 5 January 2018, Bray Wanderers announced the signing of Kelly. [5] On August 17 Kelly scored his first goal of his 3rd spell with Bray in a 3–1 defeat to Dundalk.

The Saint's were under the new management of Liam Buckley after Pete Mahon was let go at the end of the 2011 season. Pat's finished 4th the previous season and doing so qualified for the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League First qualifying round. The Saints also competed in domestic competitions such as the FAI Cup, Setanta Cup, Leinster Senior Cup, and the EA Sports Cup.

The season was very successful on the field as the Saints began by winning the inaugural President's Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup. The biggest triumph of all however was when top scorer Christy Fagan wrote himself into the club's history books by scoring twice in a 2–0 win over Derry City in the 2014 FAI Cup Final, ending a 53-year hoodoo with the cup for the club. With the new change to the League of Ireland structure, 3 clubs were set to be relegated from the Premier Division, which has created an intense relegation between many clubs, including Pats' due to their lower budget than previous years following a poor 2016 season in which they finished 7th in the league, making 2017 the first year in 7 years without European football. The relegation battle went right down to the last day of the season, where Pat's secured the necessary point to stay up following a 1–1 draw away to Derry City.
