Jakub Nosek (born 30 October 1989) is a Czech deaf bobsledder. [2] He formerly competed as a track and field athlete. [4]
Nosek was born in Ústí nad Labem, but grew up in Náchod. [5] He became deaf after contracting meningitis at only three years old, [3] having lost about 99 percent of the hearing in his right ear and 85 percent in his left ear. [6]
Nosek has been involved in sports since childhood and played football until the age of 12. [7] He became interested in bobsleigh when Radek Matoušek scouted him to try the sport. [8] Nosek initially opposed as he wanted to finish school first, but later accepted Matousek's decision. [9]
Nosek competed in Deaflympics as a track-and-field athlete, representing the Czech Republic in 2009, 2013, and 2017. [10]
Nosek made his Winter Olympic Games debut during the two-man bobsleigh event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he finished 17th place with Dominik Dvořák. [11] At the 2018–19 Bobsleigh World Cup, the pair took eleventh place in Calgary and finished fourth in the final overall standings. [12]
At the 2019–20 Bobsleigh World Cup in Lake Placid, Nosek teamed up with Dominik Suchý, Dvořák, Jan Šindelář – finishing seventh place in the final standings of the four-man bobsleigh. [13] They also finished tenth place during IBSF World Championships 2020. [14]
After Suchý withdrew from the 2022 Winter Olympics due to an injury, it was confirmed that Nosek, Dvořák, and Šindelář would remain part of the Czech bobsleigh team. They were joined by newcomers Dominik Záleský and Jáchym Procházka. [15] During the tournament, Nosek teamed up with Dvořák in the two-man bobsleigh category, finishing 12th place. [16]
Nosek has a daughter named Viktorie with his partner Aneta. [17]
Eva Šmeralová is a former Czech football defender. She played for, and captained, both Sparta Prague and the Czech national team.
Dominik Suchý is a former Czech bobsledder. He represented his country at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Winter Olympics.

Operation Dozimetr was a police operation in June 2022 related to investigation of corruption at Prague City Hall linked primarily to Transport Enterprise of the Capital City of Prague (DPP). After more than two years of monitoring, the Police of the Czech Republic carried out a mass raid on the Prague City Hall, at the headquarters of the Transport Enterprises of the Capital City of Prague and at dozens of other places. Eleven of the thirteen defendants were arrested including the then Deputy Mayor of Prague Petr Hlubuček a member of Mayors and Independents or the influential Zlín businessman Michal Redl who is the alleged head of the group. The Group was accused, for example, for influencing the public contracts of the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague (DPP), bribery and efforts to divest assets from DPP and other institutions.

Aleš Chmelař is a Czech economist, diplomat and senior civil servant. He has been permanent representative of the Czech Republic for the OECD since July 2022. Chmelař previously served for the State Secretary for European Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for the EU.
