Malaysian Federal Roads System, is the main national road network in Malaysia. All Federal Roads in Malaysia are under the purview of the Ministry of Works (MOW). According to the Ministerial Functions Act 1969, the MOW is responsible to plan, build and maintain all Federal Roads gazetted under the Federal Roads Act 1959. However, most of the Federal roads' projects were built and maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR), which is also one of the implementing agencies under the MOW.
The Federal Route 1 is the first federal road in Malaysia, and also the oldest federal road in Malaysia, as well as among the nation's earliest public roadways ever constructed. The Federal Route 1 was the backbone of the road system in the western states of Peninsular Malaysia before being supplanted by the North–South Expressway.
Federal Route 5 is one of the three north–south oriented backbone federal road running along the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia, Malaysia. The 655.85 kilometres (408 mi) federal highway runs from Jelapang, Perak in the north to Skudai, Johor in the south.
Federal Route 54, or Jalan Kuala Selangor–Kepong or Jalan Kepong in Kuala Lumpur side, is a main federal road in Selangor, Malaysia. The road connects Asam Jawa near Kuala Selangor to Kepong near Kuala Lumpur. It is a main route to Kuala Lumpur from Federal Route 5. Federal Route 54 became the backbone of the road system linking Kuala Selangor to Kuala Lumpur before being surpassed by the Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway E25 in 2011.
Federal Route 74, or Jalan Taiping–Kuala Sepetang, is a federal road in Perak, Malaysia. The 17.1 km (10.6 mi) roads connects Taiping to Kuala Sepetang. The road was built at the site of the first railway line in Malaysia from Taiping to Port Weld in 1885.
Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah or Federal Route 51 is the main federal road in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, connecting Seremban to Kuala Pilah.
Jalan Bukit Fraser 1 or Jalan Gap-Bukit Fraser, Federal Route 56, is a federal road in Fraser's Hill, both in Selangor and Pahang state, Malaysia. Unlike most federal roads in Malaysia, Jalan Bukit Fraser is a single-lane federal road, which direction was used to be reversed hourly before the newer Jalan Bukit Fraser 2 route 148 was completed in 2001 for downhill traffic. Now the road is used for uphill traffic at all times. The road is only open during daytime for safety reasons. It is maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) and the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation (FHDC).
Federal Route 19 is a federal road in the state of Malacca, Malaysia. The road connects Kampung Ulu Kendong in Negeri Sembilan to Malacca Town.
Federal Route 142, or Jalan Mufti Haji Khalil and Jalan Batu Berendam, is a federal road in Melaka, Malaysia. This route used to be known as Melaka State Route M1 on Melaka–Batu Berendam side before recommissioned as a federal road. The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 142 starts at Peringgit-Lebuh AMJ interchange.
Federal Route 68, also known as Jalan Gombak or Jalan Karak Lama, is a federal road in Malaysia that links the city of Kuala Lumpur to Bentong, Pahang. Before Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway E8/FT2 was built, the road was used to be a part of Kuala Lumpur–Kuantan Road FT2; however, due to its sharp corners, narrow roadway and lacks safety features, a replacement highway known as the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Highway FT2 was built, causing the former Kuala Lumpur–Bentong section to be re-gazetted as the Federal Route 68.
Federal Route 77, or Jalan Kroh, is a federal road in Perak, Malaysia. The roads connects Pengkalan Hulu town until Pengkalan Hulu Checkpoint of the Malaysia-Thailand Border. It is a main route to Betong, the southern gateway of Thailand.
Changlun–Kuala Perlis Highway, Federal Route 194, is a highway in Malaysia which links the town of Perlis with the main expressway of Peninsular Malaysia, the North–South Expressway. Most of the route of this highway used to be Kedah State Route K6 and Perlis State Route R6, while the Federal Route 81 is a short road from Route 7 to Kuala Perlis. Those roads were upgraded to a four-lane highway to provide better accessibility from the North–South Expressway.
Pan Borneo Highway, also known as Trans-Borneo Highway or Trans-Kalimantan Highway, is a road network on Borneo Island connecting two Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak, with Brunei and Kalimantan region in Indonesia. The highway is numbered AH150 in the Asian Highway Network and as Federal Route 1 in Sarawak. In Sabah, the route numbers given are 1, 13 and 22. The highway is a joint project between both governments which started as soon as the formation of Malaysian Federation in 1963 which comprised Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. The lack of a road network system in Sarawak was the main factor of the construction.
Federal Route 60 is a federal road in Perak, Malaysia. The road connects Changkat Jering in the north to Kampung Koh in the south. The roads also a main route to North–South Expressway Northern Route via Changkat Jering Interchange.
Federal Route 59, or Jalan Tapah–Cameron Highlands, is a federal road in Perak and Pahang state, Malaysia. It was a main route to Cameron Highlands, Pahang from Tapah, Perak, before the second route Second East–West Highway was built in 2001.
Second East–West Highway, also known as Simpang Pulai–Kuala Berang Highway, Federal Route 185 and Federal Route 36, is a highway in Peninsular Malaysia which connects Simpang Pulai in Perak to Kuala Jeneris in Terengganu. It overlaps with Federal Route 8 Federal Route 8 between Gua Musang and Sungai Relau. It is notorious for its many sharp corners which increase the risk of road accidents.
Federal Route 218, or Jalan Lama Bentong–Raub, is a federal road in Pahang, Malaysia. The roads connects Teranum in the north to Bentong in the south. This stretch used to be a part of Federal Route 8. The Kilometre Zero (KM0) of the Federal Route 218 starts at Bentong.

Senawang-NSE Road, Federal Route 243, is a dual-carriageway federal road in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It is a main route to North–South Expressway Southern Route from Senawang.
