James E. Smith (born November 15,1948) [1] is the former mayor of Helena,Montana,the state's capital,having served in that position for 16 years,from 2002 until 2018. [2] He was also the president of the Jedediah Smith Society from 2016 until 2019 and as vice-president from 2019-2022. [3]

Heber Jeddy Grant was an American religious leader who served as the seventh president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Grant worked as a bookkeeper and a cashier,then was called to be an LDS apostle on October 16,1882,at age 25. After the death of Joseph F. The Confederate Memorial Fountain was a historic fountain in Helena,Montana,and one of the very few monuments to The Confederacy located in the Northwestern United States. Erected in Hill Park in 1916,the fountain was removed in 2017. It was replaced by a new fountain,called the Equity Fountain,in 2020.
Wilmot Collins is an American politician serving as the mayor of Helena,Montana. He defeated four-term incumbent mayor James E. Smith in the 2017 mayoral election on November 7,2017,with 51% of the vote. This victory made him the first black person to be elected the mayor of any city in the history of Montana since statehood was achieved in 1889.
