Henry Chadwick was an English-American sportswriter,baseball statistician and historian,often called the "Father of Baseball" for his early reporting on and contributions to the development of the game. Naismith lived to see basketball adopted as an Olympic demonstration sport in 1904 and as an official event at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin,as well as the birth of the National Invitation Tournament (1938) and the NCAA Tournament (1939).

Thomas Clark Fisher Johnson was an English footballer who played as either a centre forward or an inside forward. He started his professional career at Manchester City in 1919,and represented the club throughout the 1920s. Known for his powerful left foot shot,Johnson held the record for the most goals scored by a Manchester City player in a single season,with 38 goals in 1928–29. He played for Manchester City in the 1926 FA Cup Final,and was a member of the City side which won the Second Division in 1927.
James Brown was a Scottish American soccer player who played for the United States men's national soccer team at the 1930 FIFA World Cup,scoring the only goal of the American team in their 6–1 semi-final loss to Argentina. He began his career in the American Soccer League before moving to England and then Scotland. After retiring from playing,he coached at the youth,senior amateur,and professional levels. He was inducted into the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986.
