James Hart (born August 26, 1979) is an American vocalist, best known as the frontman and founding member of the metalcore band Eighteen Visions. He was also the founding member and lead vocalist of the band Burn Halo, from its inception in 2007 until leaving in 2016. [1]
Hart was born on August 26, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved to California when he was 6. Growing up, he played baseball and football a lot. He considers himself a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. His parents separated and divorced when he was 11, with his father moving away back to Chicago. In 2017, Hart said that both of his parents had been struggling with alcohol at that time, which, in his opinion, ruined their marriage and chance for a happy family life. He also cited that as a major driving force behind his abstinence from alcohol and drugs from a very young age. [2]
He graduated from Huntington Beach High School where he was on his school's baseball and football teams. He used to work at Banana Republic retail store after finishing high school.
Eighteen Visions originally formed in 1995 by Hart, Dave Peters, Billy Sisler, and Kenneth Floyd. Their first show was at the "Koo's Cafe" in early 1996. Many lineup changes and breakup rumors occurred before the release of their debut album Yesterday Is Time Killed , before eventually finding a stable lineup in 1999.
The band went on to release four more studio albums before breaking up in 2007. Hart had this to say concerning the matter:
"After several years of touring and quite a few album releases we have decided that it is time to go our separate ways. We have been a band for a very long time and feel good about everything we were able to accomplish. At this point in our lives and our careers we feel its time to move on to something fresh and new. Whether it be music, touring or just being at home to live and enjoy life. We would like to thank all of our fans, friends and families for all of the great support over the years. We would also like to thank all of the bands we have shared the stage with and everyone who has ever worked with the band, opened a door or reached out a hand. We will be playing our final two shows in April. One in San Diego and one in Orange County. Come rock with us one more time." [3] [4]
The band announced its reunion in February 2017, featuring 3 of the 5 members of their 2007's lineup, including Hart. The comeback album "XVIII" was released on June 2, 2017, followed by a live show held in Orange County area on the same day.
After the breakup of Eighteen Visions, James Hart worked with former Nixons frontman, Zac Maloy, on a new mainstream rock band called Burn Halo. Originally, Hart conceptualized it to be a solo project; however, during the development of the music and recording, the direction of Hart's idea changed, and Burn Halo was formed.
Three albums thus far have been recorded, with Burn Halo's self-titled debut being released March 31, 2009. The singles from that album were "Dirty Little Girl" and "Save Me". Burn Halo's sophomore release, entitled Up from the Ashes was released June 28, 2011, with the song "Tear It Down" as the lead single. The third album Wolves Of War saw the light of day in 2015. On June 7, 2016, it was announced that James was no longer the vocalist for the band. [5]
In 1999, Hart attended beauty school along with a former Eighteen Visions bass player Javier Van Huss. Apart from his music career, he is a certified hair stylist working with men and women. Hopesfall is an American post-hardcore band from Charlotte, North Carolina, formed in 1998. They are currently signed to Equal Vision Records. The band dissolved in 2008 after all members, with the exception of singer Jay Forrest, left the band. Following this, the lineup of the band's first two albums got together temporarily and played reunion shows in 2011. The band finally reformed with the majority of their last album's members and original drummer Adam Morgan in 2016 with a new label Equal Vision Records. Arbiter was released on July 13, 2018.
Adema is an American rock band from Bakersfield, California. The band formed in 2000 with members vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts between themselves and other members of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for one album, Planets, but then left a few months later in late 2005. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Faris, both from the band Level, were recruited to join as well, but only released one album, Kill the Headlights in 2007, before entering a hiatus. The band's original lineup reformed in late 2009 and toured, but both Ransom and Chavez left again before any new music would be recorded. Fluckey took over lead vocals from 2011 to 2017. The lineup released an EP, Topple the Giants. In 2013 Ransom returned once again; Chavez rejoined the band again in March 2017, only to leave again in 2019. He was replaced by Ryan Shuck.

Burn Halo is an American hard rock band originating from Orange County, California and Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was formed by James Hart, lead singer of Orange County metalcore band Eighteen Visions although he left in 2016 and rejoined Eighteen Visions in 2017.

Kyng is a Los Angeles-based stoner metal band consisting of Eddie Veliz, Tony Castaneda, and Pepe Clarke (drums). The group formed in 2008 and their debut release, Trampled Sun, was released on September 27, 2011 on Realid Records. The band signed to Razor & Tie Records in August 2013 and the trio released their second album, Burn The Serum, on April 15, 2014. Burn The Serum was recorded at Grandmaster Recorders LTD and Sword & Shield in Hollywood, California and Studio 606 in Northridge, California. James Rota and Andrew Alekel co-produced the album. Rota is known for Fireball Ministry while Alekel is known for his work on Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age recordings. The band released their third full length studio album, Breathe in the Water, on October 7, 2016 on Razor & Tie Records.
In an interview with Noisecreep, Eddie explains that the band might not have existed if it weren't for their persistence.
"What is crazy about Kyng is that it was my last hurrah," admits Veliz. "You know, I had a steady job doing my thing. Tony and I had always talked about getting another band together and it was a side project for a moment but as we started writing music, it just kept getting better and better and we decided that we should try to play in front of people instead of just sitting around. We went at it, stuck to our guns and it started to snowball into a tiny machine that is getting bigger."

XVIII is the sixth studio album by Eighteen Visions. It was released on June 2, 2017. It is the band's first album in 11 years, following its breakup in 2007. It is also the band's first release on Rise Records. According to Metal Insider, the album sold 3,525 units in its first week and is the band's highest-charting effort to date. The album peaked at number 49 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart. In a 2017 interview with LouderSound, James Hart stated that XVIII was the record he wanted to be remembered for, adding that the record really spoke for who the band is and who they always have been, and encompassed the sound that the band liked the most from each of its prior albums.
1996 is the seventh studio album by Eighteen Visions. It is a covers album surprise-released on July 9, 2021, and the band's first album in four years following XVIII (2017), marking the longest gap between two studio albums in the band's career without breaking up. According to frontman James Hart, the album is a "collection of 90s hardcore and hard rock songs from bands that helped shape Eighteen Visions and our style".
