James Karanja Nyoro [1] is an agricultural expert and economist trained at the University of Nairobi and London Wayne College. He is the current governor of Kiambu County [2] after impeachment of Ferdinand Waititu A.K.A Baba Yao. He worked as Managing Director at the Rockefeller Foundation before venturing into politics. In 2013, Nyoro ventured into politics, unsuccessfully, contesting for the Kiambu governor seat. He lost the seat to former Kiambu governor William Kabogo. In 2016, Nyoro was appointed as an advisor to the government on matters Agriculture and Policy. He was attached to the Deputy President office. In the run up to the 2017 polls, Nyoro declared interest to unseat former governor Kabogo. He, however, dropped his bid in support of Governor Ferdinand Waititu [3] after an agreement under the United for Kiambu Alliance.

Thika is an industrial town and a major commerce hub in Kiambu County, Kenya, lying on the A2 road 42 kilometres (26 mi), Northeast of Nairobi, near the confluence of the Thika and Chania Rivers. Although Thika town is administratively in Kiambu County, the greater Thika area comprising such residential areas such as Bendor estate, Maporomoko, Thika Greens, Thika Golden Pearl, Bahati Ridge, Thika Sports Club, among others, are within Murang'a County. Thika has a population of 279,429 which is growing rapidly, as is the entire greater Nairobi area. Its elevation is approximately 1,631 metres (5,351 ft).

Gatundu is a small town in Kiambu County of Kenya. It is known for the first Kenyan president Jomo Kenyatta who lived about three kilometres away from the town, as well as his son, Uhuru Kenyatta, now the 4th President of Kenya and former Member of Parliament representing Gatundu South Constituency. The town is located on a hill surrounded by many farms and residences.

Mbuvi Gideon Kioko Mike Sonko commonly known as Sonkoree, Mike Sonko or simply Sonko, is a Kenyan politician. He served as the second Governor of Nairobi. He was removed from the office of the governor by a form of impeachement by the Senate of the Republic of Kenya on Abuse of Office, Gross Misconduct and Crimes under National Law on 17 December 2020. He becomes the second governor in Kenya to be impeached after Kiambu's Ferdinand Waititu.

Ferdinard Ndungu Waititu, also known as Baba Yao, is a Kenyan politician who served as the second governor of Kiambu County from 2017 to January 2020. He was impeached on corruption charges. His troubles started after it was learnt he was involved in a scheme of grabbing land from a widow worth over one million dollars amongst other fraudulent activities. He is currently awaiting trial for the mismanagement of county fund of over five million dollars. He also served as an assistant minister for Water Services and Irrigation in the government of Kenya.

Local elections were held in Kiambu County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected.

Ndindi Nyoro Kenyan politician

Ndindi Nyoro is a Kenyan politician, an economist and an entrepreneur, and currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kiharu Constituency, which is in Murang'a county in central part of Kenya. Murang’a town is in Kiharu constituency. Ndindi belongs to Jubilee Party, the ruling party in Kenya under President Uhuru Kenyatta. He previously served as the Chairman of Kiharu Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from 2013 to 2016. He is a graduate of Kenyatta University with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) and was a student leader at the same university. Ndindi occupies a markedly controversial position in Kenya political life, having risen to prominence with his disdain for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga, and later and unequivocal supporter of Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions. Ndindi has been rated as among the best performing Members of Parliament in Kenya.

Peninnah Gathoni Muchomba popularly known as Gathoni Wa Mucomba is Kenyan entrepreneur and politician. She is the Kiambu County Women representative in the bicameral Kenyan parliament and a member of the ruling political party, Jubilee Party of Kenya. She vied and won the Kiambu women representative post in the 2017 General election. Gathoni garnered 922,829 votes from Kiambu county constituents becoming the third highest candidate with the majority votes after President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
