James Reid was a Scottish rugby football player. [1]

He was capped five times for Scotland between 1874 and 1877. [1] He also played for Edinburgh Wanderers. [1]

He was the brother of Charles Reid ("Hippo") who was also capped for Scotland. [1]

David Ivor Walter Hilton is a former professional rugby union player who played as a prop. Although he was born in England, he qualified to play for the Scotland national team by virtue of a grandfather who he believed was born in Scotland; however, it later emerged that his grandfather's birth was registered in England. Despite this, Hilton completed a residency period to restore his Scottish eligibility, and he went on to win a total of 42 caps in a seven-year international career. At club level, he played for Bath, Glasgow and Bristol.

Ninian Jamieson Finlay was an international rugby player for Scotland. He played nine caps for Scotland between 1875 – 1881. He is generally considered to be the youngest player ever to play for Scotland. He was seventeen years and thirty six days old when he played his first cap against England on 8 March 1875. He eagerly competes for this record against Charles Reid, who was the same age when he played his first cap. Reid, however, was a day older because of an extra leap year day when he capped in 1881.
