James Todd, alias The Sandman, is a welterweight professional boxer from Swansea, Wales.
Todd made his professional debut against another debuting fighter, Adam Cummings, in December 2008, which was judged by the referee as a draw. Todd won his next two bouts, against 7-82-2 Jason Nesbitt and 0-1 Adam Farrell, before traveling to the US to further his career. There Todd faced amateur standout Dean Peters Jr. and lost by unanimous decision. On interview with Todd he felt that he was “robbed” and that the decision of all judges were wrong.
On 20 October 2009 it was announced that Todd would get a surprise shot at a minor world title, the IBA welterweight belt. [1] Todd's opponent Mohammed Kayongo (14-2 with 10 knockouts) won with a fourth-round TKO.
Todd took a three-year break, then teamed up with a new trainer Darren Pullman in Swansea. Todd made a comeback fight on 7 June 2013 against debuting fighter Lee Boyce in Echo Arena, Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom on the Dave Price versus Tony Thomas undercard. Todd won the fight on points against Lee boyce referee Mark Lyson scored the fight 40-38 to Todd.
Todd took a two-year break out of the ring, before teaming up with Gary Lockett. Todd had the opportunity to fight on the under card of Enzo Maccarinelli In Newport, United Kingdom. Todd went on to beat Mick Mills winning on points 40–36.

Enzo Maccarinelli is a Welsh former professional boxer who competed from 1999 to 2016. He held the WBO cruiserweight title from 2006 to 2008. At regional level, he held the European and British cruiserweight titles between 2010 and 2012, and the Commonwealth light-heavyweight title in 2013.

Devon Alexander is an American professional boxer. Brian Nancurvis, who fought under the name Brian Curvis as a professional, was a boxer from Swansea, Wales who was active from 1959 to 1966. He fought as a Welterweight, becoming British welterweight champion in 1960. He retired as undefeated champion and is the only welterweight to have won two Lonsdale Belts outright. The four defeats in his professional career were all to foreign boxers; he was never beaten by a British boxer.
Jason Cook is a former professional boxer, who fought under the nickname "The Power". As an amateur, he won a silver medal for Wales at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. John Michael Basham was a Welsh boxer who became British and European champion at both welter and middleweight. His professional career spanned over 20 years, from 1909 to 1929, and after being stationed in Wrexham through military service, he fought most of his bouts in nearby Liverpool.

Davies was considered a serious contender for the British Middleweight title, but a string of three fights against Vince Hawkins during 1944 robbed him of his chance of a title fight.
Freddie William Evans is a British professional boxer fighting in the 69 kg welterweight category. As an amateur, he won gold at the 2007 World Cadet Championships in Hungary and won gold for Wales at the 2011 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Ankara. He was the first Welsh boxer to achieve the feat in 86 years.
Cliff Curvis, was a champion welterweight boxer from Swansea, Wales. Curvis fought professionally from the mid-1940s until 1953, winning both the British and Commonwealth titles when he beat Wally Thom in 1952. Curvis was one of four brothers who boxed, most notably British and Commonwealth champion Brian Curvis.
Billy Waith was a Welsh welterweight boxer. He made an unsuccessful challenge for the British Welterweight title in 1978 against Henry Rhiney and became Wales Welterweight champion in 1982, holding it until his retirement from the sport in 1984.
Johnny Houlston (1917–1962) was a Welsh welterweight and middleweight boxer. Houlston was Wales welterweight champion from 1938 until he relinquished the belt with the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. Houlston decision to join the Merchant Navy in 1939 resulted in him engaging in no professional bouts until he left the service in 1946. On his return to professional boxing after the war, Houlston switched to middleweight and made one unsuccessful attempt at the Welsh title. His boxing career lasted from 1935 to 1949. He was predicted to be a World Middleweight Champion before the war.
