Jamie Freveletti is an American writer of thriller novels. Her first novel, Running from the Devil, was published in 2009 and won the 2010 Barry Award for best thriller and the 2010 International Thriller Writers Awards best first novel. In 2011 Freveletti was selected by the Robert Ludlum estate to write a novel in the Covert-One series. Freveletti has currently published four novels and a novella in her Emma Caldridge series and two novels in the Covert-One series.

Biography

Freveletti grew up in Addison, Illinois. [1] After attending law school she moved to Geneva, Switzerland to study for a diploma in International Studies. [2] Following her studies Freveletti started practicing as a trial attorney. [3] Freveletti also holds a black belt in aikido and competes in ultramarathons. [4] Freveletti's first thriller novel, Running from the Devil, was published in 2009 and featured the character Emma Caldridge. [3] [5] Running from the Devil won the 2010 Barry Award for best thriller and was named the best first novel at the 2010 International Thriller Writers Awards. [3] The second novel in the Emma Caldridge series was released the following year and the third, The Ninth Day was released in 2011. [5] In August 2011 it was announced that Freveletti had been selected by the Robert Ludlum Estate to write the next novel in the Covert-One series. [1] [4] It was released in 2012 entitled The Janus Reprisal. [3] During 2012 Freveletti also published the fourth novel in the Emma Caldridge series and released the first of three parts in an Emma Caldridge novella. [5] [6] The following year her publisher released parts two and three of the novella which were entitled Gone and Run. [7] [8] In 2015 Freveletti's second novel in the Covert-One series, The Geneva Strategy, was released. [5] Freveletti currently lives in Chicago with her family. [3]

The Lord John series is a sequence of historical mystery novels and shorter works written by Diana Gabaldon that center on Lord John Grey, a recurring secondary character in the author's Outlander series. Secretly homosexual "in a time when that particular predilection could get one hanged," the character has been called "one of the most complex and interesting" of the hundreds of characters in Gabaldon's Outlander novels. Starting with the 1998 novella Lord John and the Hellfire Club, the Lord John spin-off series currently consists of six novellas and three novels.

Robert Ludlum (1927–2001) was an American author of twenty-seven novels between 1971 and 2006, the last being issued five years after his death. Of his twenty-seven novels, two were originally published under the pseudonym of Jonathan Ryder and another under the pseudonym of Michael Shepherd. Ludlum also created the Covert-One series, overseeing the first three novels with Gayle Lynds and Philip Shelby before his death. Following Ludlum's death, his estate has continued to publish novels under his name with eleven authors having written a combined thirty-three novels under the Ludlum brand, a trademark inscription of "Robert Ludlum's" on every book. Since 2019, publishing rights in the United States have been held by G. P. Putnam's Sons, taking over from Grand Central Publishing who held the rights from 2007 to 2017.

James "Jamie" Fraser is a fictional character in the Outlander series of multi-genre novels by American author Diana Gabaldon, and its television adaptation. In the series, married World War II nurse Claire Randall is visiting Scotland when she is transported through time from 1945 back to 1743. There she finds adventure, war and romance with the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser, a grandson of Lord Lovat and senior member of Gabaldon's fictionalized Clan Fraser. Jamie Fraser also appears in two novels in the Lord John series of historical mysteries, and in the 2013 novella Virgins.
