James Lomas (born 21 April 1975) is an English actor, known for his soap opera roles as Warren Fox in Hollyoaks and Jake Stone in EastEnders .

Early life

Jamie Lomas was born on 21 April 1975 in Manchester.[ citation needed ]

Career

Before joining Hollyoaks in 2006, Lomas had minor roles in Heartbeat playing Craig Harker in 2005 and in Casualty playing Nathan Simmonds in 2005. Lomas left Hollyoaks in 2011. [1]

Lomas made a full-time return to Hollyoaks in May 2016, before he departed again in November 2017. He made a one-off appearance in May 2018 and again in July 2019, before making a full-time return in January 2020 until leaving once again in 2024. Lomas was also on the seventeenth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and finished in second place. [2]


Personal life

Lomas and singer and actress Kym Marsh announced their relationship in July 2008. [3] In December 2008, Lomas and Marsh announced they were expecting a baby together, due in the summer of 2009. [4] On 12 February 2009, Marsh released a statement on behalf of the couple, announcing their son, Archie Jay Lomas, had been born 18 weeks early on 11 February, and had died moments after birth. [5] [6] In 2011 the couple had a daughter who they named Polly Lomas. [7]

He announced that despite being asymptomatic, he had tested positive for coronavirus during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to him being forced to cancel his appearance in The Real Full Monty on Ice . [8]

Awards and nominations

Lomas was nominated for Villain of the Year and Best Actor at the British Soap Awards in 2007, [9] 2008 [10] and 2009. [11] As well as this, he was also nominated for Sexiest Male in 2007 [9] and 2008. [10] Lomas, alongside Gemma Bissix, Hannah Tointon and Chris Fountain, won the award for Most Spectacular Scene in 2008 for Clare Devine driving off a cliff. [10] He was also nominated for Best Actor for his role as Warren Fox since returning at the 2017 British Soap Awards. [12]

In July 2024, Lomas won Best Actor in a Television series for his betrayal of Warren at the 2024 National Film Awards{{https://www.nationalfilmawards.org/10th-anniversary-of-the-national-film-awards-celebrating-a-decade-of-excellence-in-film-and-television/}

The character and casting were announced on 12 May 2006, and Warren made his first appearance on 26 June. He was introduced as an old acquaintance of Sean Kennedy. Lomas left the series in 2009, with his departure coinciding with the return of Clare Devine. On 17 October 2010, it was announced that Lomas would return to the series, appearing from 29 October, but he left the series for the second time in December 2011.

Calvin Valentine is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Ricky Whittle. He arrived in July 2006 as a police officer with his mother Diane Valentine, his brother Sonny Valentine and his sister Sasha Valentine and made his final appearance on 21 May 2010 after he was murdered by Theresa McQueen. Whittle was credited for a flashback episode on 1 December 2010. Calvin appeared again as a ghost to tell his wife and Theresa's Cousin Carmel McQueen that his and Theresa's daughter, Kathleen-Angel McQueen, was fine with Theresa in February 2011.

Niall Rafferty is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Barry Sloane. He first appeared during an episode broadcast on 3 December 2007. Former Brookside actor Sloane was cast as the "mysterious" hairdresser Niall and was introduced by the series' producer Bryan Kirkwood. During Sloane's portrayal of Niall on-screen, he was central to a storyline involving the already-established McQueen family and it was revealed Niall was the illegitimate son of Myra McQueen. The storyline featured Niall seek revenge on the McQueens, which concluded in highly advertised episodes featuring Niall kidnapping his siblings and causing the death of his half-sister Tina Reilly.
