The Real Full Monty is a series of British television specials that began airing on ITV on 15 June 2017. The series airs annual specials that feature celebrities stripping to raise money for cancer charities. Ashley Banjo appears in every special to coach the celebrities and choreograph. [1] Since 2018, local versions of the franchise have also been produced in Australia, Italy and Spain, with a United States version planned for release in 2024. On 30 September 2024, ITV announced that the show had been cancelled and will not return.
In 2017, ITV announced the commissioning of The Real Full Monty. A television special in which a group of male celebrities would be stripping to raise awareness for cancer and money for charity. [2] In 2018, the show aired a Ladies Night special. [3] The show has since aired one-off specials annually, with several of the episodes being themed around television shows including Dancing on Ice and Strictly Come Dancing . [4]
The first episode, titled The Real Full Monty aired on 15 June 2017 featuring eight male celebrities. [2]

The Real Full Monty was ranked 3 out of 5 stars by Michael Hogan of the Daily Telegraph , who described the 2018 special as not being "the slickest production" adding that "hats fell off, red G-strings malfunctioned, and awkward pauses occurred". However noted that the special was "whole-hearted" and [struck] the right balance between worthy and entertaining". [15] Barbara Ellen of The Guardian described The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night as "brave", but argued that the message a female charity striptease [sent] out was "complicated and unhelpful". [16] The Real Full Monty on Ice was described as an "excellent cause" by Carol Midgley of The Times . [17]

The Full Monty is a 1997 British comedy film directed by Peter Cattaneo, starring Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, William Snape, Steve Huison, Tom Wilkinson, Paul Barber and Hugo Speer. The screenplay was written by Simon Beaufoy. The film is set in Sheffield in the North of England during the 1990s, and tells the story of six unemployed men, four of them former steel workers, who decide to form a male striptease act in order to make some money and for the main character, Gaz, to be able to see his son. Gaz declares that their show will be much better than the renowned Chippendales dancers because they will go "the full monty"—strip all the way—hence the film's title.

Dancing on Ice is a British television series currently presented by Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby. Daniel J Whiston is an English ice skater. He appeared in Strictly Ice Dancing on BBC One in 2004 and for all series of ITV show Dancing on Ice since its inception in 2006. He won the first series of Dancing on Ice while partnering actress Gaynor Faye, the fifth series with former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon and the eighth series with Olympic artistic gymnast, Beth Tweddle. Since 2019, Whiston has been Associate Creative Director of Dancing on Ice responsible for creating all professional routines and training all celebrity contestants.
Ricky James Norwood is a British actor from London, known for portraying the role of Fatboy in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders and its online spin-off EastEnders: E20 (2010–2011). Thomas Anthony Parker was an English singer, best known as a member of the boy band the Wanted. In 2013, Parker appeared with his bandmates in the E! channel reality television series The Wanted Life. Alongside the Wanted, Parker released three studio albums and achieved two number one singles on the UK Singles Chart. After the band's hiatus in 2014, he embarked on a solo career.
Christine McGuinness is an English model, television personality and former beauty queen. She appeared on the ITVBe reality series The Real Housewives of Cheshire between 2018 and 2020 and has appeared on other television series such as The Real Full Monty and The Games. In 2021, she took part in a BBC documentary alongside her husband Paddy to raise awareness about autism.
"The Dog and Pony Show" is the eighth episode of the third season of the American sitcom The Drew Carey Show, and the 54th overall. The series focuses on the work and home life of a fictionalized version of actor and comedian Drew Carey. The episode first aired on November 12, 1997 on ABC in the United States. The episode's plot sees Mr. Wick pass off caring for his boss Mrs. Lauder's Hungarian Puli to his employee Drew. Demi Jones is an English television personality. In 2020, she was a contestant on the sixth series of the ITV2 reality series Love Island and finished in third place. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she signed up for The Real Full Monty in 2021. She returned to compete in the spin-off series Love Island: All-Stars in 2024.
