Jamil Karzai Born Kandahar 1976 age 46.He was elected to represent Kabul Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. [1] A report on Kabul prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated Jamil Karzai is a second cousin to President Hamid Karzai, President of Afghanistan. It stated he was head of the National Youth Solidarity Party. It stated he sat on the Internal Security Committee. [2]

Uruzgan, also spelled as Urozgan or Oruzgan, is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. Uruzgan is located in the center of the country. The population is 436,079, and the province is mostly a tribal society. Tarinkot serves as the capital of the province.

2005 Afghan parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections were held in Afghanistan alongside provincial elections on 18 September 2005. Former warlords and their followers gained the majority of seats in both the lower house and the provincial council. Women won 28% of the seats in the lower house, six more than the 25% guaranteed in the 2004 constitution.

Ahmad Zia Massoud Afghan politician

Ahmad Zia Massoud is an Afghan politician who was the Vice President of Afghanistan in the first elected administration of President Hamid Karzai, from December 2004 to November 2009. He is a younger brother of the late Ahmad Shah Massoud, the resistance leader against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and against the Taliban. In late 2011, Ahmad Zia Massoud joined hands with major leaders in the National Front of Afghanistan, which strongly opposed a return of the Taliban to power. The National Front was generally regarded as a reformation of the United Front which with U.S. air support temporarily removed the Taliban from power in late 2001.

Mohammad Omar Daudzai

Mohammad Umer Daudzai is a politician in Afghanistan, most recently having served as President Ashraf Ghani’s Special Envoy for Regional Consensus Building on Peace and as Head of the High Peace Council (HPC) Secretariat for a few months, until he was appointed as President Ghani’s Campaign Manager for the 2019 Presidential elections. After a career with international non-governmental organizations including the United Nations Development Program in Geneva, Daudzai started work as two term Chief of Staff of Afghan President Hamid Karzai from 2003 to 2005 and then from 2007 to around 2010. From 2005 until 2007, President Karzai appointed him as Afghan Ambassador in Iran. He then served as the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, tasked with advancing efforts to reach a political solution to the war in Afghanistan. In September 2013, Daudzai was asked to serve as Afghan Minister of Interior in Kabul and ensure security for the challenging 2014 presidential elections.

Mohammad Yousef Pashtun is an Afghan technocrat and politician. He served as Minister of Urban Development and Housing for two terms and as Governor of Kandahar province in 2003, replacing Gul Agha Sherzai under President Hamid Karzai's administration. In 2010, he was appointed as Senior Adviser to President Karzai on Construction, Mines, Water & Energy. In 2014, minister Pashtun continued to serve as Senior Adviser to President Ashraf Ghani. Yِousef Pashtun is also chairing the Kabul New City Development Authority Board.

Abdullah Abdullah Pakistani blogger

Abdullah Abdullah is an Afghan politician who led the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), which was expected to lead the intra-Afghan peace talks with the Taliban, from 2020 to 2021. He served as Chief Executive of Afghanistan from September 2014 to March 2020 and as Minister of Foreign Affairs from December 2001 to April 2005. Prior to that he was a senior member of the Northern Alliance, working as an adviser to Ahmad Shah Massoud. He worked as an ophthalmologist and medical doctor in the 1980s.

Abdul Qayum Karzai or Qayyum Karzai is businessman and politician in Afghanistan. He is the elder brother of former President Hamid Karzai. His brothers also include the controversial Mahmoud Karzai and the assassinated Ahmed Wali Karzai, both embroiled by allegations of widespread corruption in Afghanistan and other serious charges. Abdul Qayum was a businessman in the United States before entering into Afghan politics. He served as a member of the Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of the National Assembly of Afghanistan. He retired due to health reasons and "reportedly been involved in back-channel peace diplomacy with the Taliban through Saudi Arabia."

2010 Afghan parliamentary election Afghan election

Parliamentary elections were held in Afghanistan on 18 September 2010 to elect members of the House of the People. The Afghan Independent Election Commission - established in accordance with the article 156 of the Constitution of Afghanistan for the purpose of organizing and supervising all elections in the country - postponed the poll from its original date of 22 May to September 18.

He is the Secretary of the Legislature's International Relations Committee. He is a supporter of Abdullah Abdullah.

Hajji Ameer Lali امیر لالی was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. A report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated he was a member of the Pashtun ethnic group, from the same Popolzai tribe as President Hamid Karzai. They stated he was a "demobilized local commander". He sits on the Armed Services Committee.

Habibullah Jan was an Afghan warlord who was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. He was a member of the Alizai tribe. He sat on the "Kandahar Security Shura". He was a "sometimes rival of [President] Karzai", according to a report prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School. Karzai created the Zhari District out of parts of Maywand and Panjwai districts in 2004 as reward for Habibullah Jan helping defeat the Taliban in Kandahar.

Mohammad Arif Noorzai

Mohammad Arif Noorzai was a former minister of Border and Tribe Affairs for Afghanistan. He was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005. He is the first deputy speaker of Afghanistan Wolesi Jirga and his current position is the Advisor of President Hamid Karzai for security and tribal affairs He is a member of the Pashtun ethnic group, and the Noorzai tribe. A report on Kandahar prepared at the Navy Postgraduate School stated he is first deputy speaker, and that he is related to President Hamid Karzai through marriage, and that he is a high school graduate.

Shakiba Matin Hashemi is an Afghani politician who was elected to represent Kandahar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005.

Mawlawi Shahzada Shahid was elected to represent Kunar Province in Afghanistan's Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of its National Legislature, in 2005.

Islamic Republic of Afghanistan 2004–2021 government of Afghanistan

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was a presidential republic in South-Central Asia that ruled most of Afghanistan from 2004 to 2021. The state was established to replace a transitional authority formed following the 2001 United States invasion of Afghanistan, which captured most of the country from the Taliban-led Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Following the War in Afghanistan, it lost control of the majority of the country to the Islamic Emirate in the summer offensive of 2021, culminating in its removal by the Taliban subsequently in the Taliban's capture of Kabul on 15 August 2021.
