Hausa-language cinema, known informally as Kannywood, is the Hausa-language film industry of northern Nigeria. It is based in Kano.

Hadiza Aliyu, also known as Hadiza Gabon, is a Nigerian professional actress and filmmaker who acts in both Hausa and English movies. Nazifi Asnanic often referred to as the Golden Voice, he is recognized as one of the most successful Hausa artists of all time in the history of Kannywood. He has received numbers of awards and nominations including City People Entertainment Awards as the best musician in 2014. He was also among the Kannywood stars that received an award by Zamfara State government of Nigeria for their tremendous effort and contribution toward uniting and sustaining Hausa culture. Nazifi Asnanic has featured, produced, and directed numbers of film in Kannywood.
Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso, is a Nigerian film actress, primarily in the Kannywood film industry. She is known for the role she always plays as an aggressive and mischievous actress who defied all odds to rise to stardom. She made her film debut in 2000 in Linzami Da Wuta, produced by Sarauniya Movies. Other hits such as Nagari, Gidauniya, Mashi, and Sansani followed. she affirm that she like playing the role of a wicked woman.

The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Bauchi State will be held on 25 February 2023, to elect the 3 federal Senators from Bauchi State, one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
Umar Sani Labaran, also known as Umar Gombe is a Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director who has appeared in over a hundred movies as well as a number of television and comedy shows. Gombe is the first program manager for Northflix, a Hausa movie streaming app. He has appeared in films, television shows, radio shows, and comedy shows. He has been nominated for best supporting actor several times and has won several other awards.
