Aminu Muhammad Ahmad, also known as Aminu Saira (born April 20, 1979) [1] is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, [2] and story writer. He is regarded as a pioneer revolutionist of today's Kannywood. [3]
He became known after the release of his movies Jamila Da Jamilu in 2009, Ga Duhu Ga Haske in 2010, and Ashabul Kahfi in 2014, which earned him several honors and awards, including Best Director of the Year (Jurors Choice Awards) in 2014. After the release of Ashabul Kahfi, Saira began a project to launch the first Hausa home video series in the history of the Hausa movie industry, Labarina.
Ashabul Kahfi and Baya Da Kura were the two highest-grossing films of all time for Saira Movies, respectively.[ citation needed ]. In 2015, Aminu was awarded the Best Kannywood Director. [4] He is also the Director of the popular TV series, Labarina, launched in 2020.
Aminu was born in Gwammaja, [1] Kano State, Nigeria, the son of Muhammad, an elderly statesman. Mohammed grew up in the Kano metropolis with his two brothers, who are all Kannywood followers, and got his primary, secondary, and tertiary educations in Kano. He studied Quranic science at the Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano, Nigeria. Aminu quits his job as a businessman to enter the Kannywood film industry in 2006 with his first movie, Musnadi, that hits the industry.
Aminu Saira was the director, writer and producer for Dare Da Yawa in (2007), and Jamila Da Jamilu in (2009) and his all-time favourite Ga Duhu Ga Haske in (2010), which featured a non-Muslim who converted to Islam. He continued to write and direct movies, including his first and one of the best Hausa movie series, Labarina, under his production name, Saira Movies.

Hadiza Aliyu, also known as Hadiza Gabon, is a Nigerian professional actress and filmmaker who acts in both Hausa and English movies. Nazifi Abdulsalam Yusuf better known as his stage name Nazifi Asnanic is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, director, and producer. He was born and raised in the ancient city of Kano. Nazifi Asnanic, often referred to as the Golden Voice, is recognized as one of the most successful Hausa artists of all time in the history of Kannywood. He has received numbers of awards and nominations including City People Entertainment Awards as the best musician in 2014. He was also among the Kannywood stars that received an award by Zamfara State government of Nigeria for their tremendous effort and contribution toward uniting and sustaining Hausa culture. Wasila is a 2000 Nigerian Hausa film directed by Ishaq Sidi Ishaq, depicting a romantic tale involving Jamilu and his wife Wasila, who is knowledgeable. Jamilu works in a bank. The film portrays Jamilu's lack of time to spend at home with his wife due to his busy schedule. Consequently, one day, his wife invites her old friend Moɗa to their house after her husband leaves for the office. When Jamilu returns to the office, his manager asks him about the file he had forgotten to submit. Jamilu remembers the file and rushes back home. Upon arriving, he finds his wife with her old friend in the living room, sparking jealousy between them.
