She was the 2017 Slade Professor of Fine Art at the University of Oxford.
Dirk Jan"Dick"van de Kaa is a Dutch demographer. From 1970 to 1987 he was the first director of the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute. From 1987 to 1995 he was director and rector of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study. Van de Kaa was professor of demography at the University of Amsterdam between 1978 and 1998.

Born at Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Kolff earned a doctorate degree from the Leiden University in 1983 with a doctoral thesis on the research subject of armed peasantry in northern India. He is a professor emeritus of modern South Asian history and the former Chair of Indian History at the Leiden University.
