Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421.
Nils Arne Eggen was a Norwegian footballer, manager and teacher from Orkdal. Eggen was closely tied to Rosenborg, the club he managed for 23 years between 1970 and 2010. He is Norway's most successful club manager throughout history, having won the Norwegian top division fifteen times and the Norwegian Football Cup six times as a manager. Eggen's tactical emphasis was on playing 4-3-3 and attacking football and his way of playing football has frequently been cited as an inspiration among players, coaches and clubs alike, both domestically and abroad. In his native Trøndelag, Eggen is revered and widely regarded as the greatest and most influential sports person in the region, even eclipsing Olympic champions such as Hjalmar Andersen and Petter Northug.
Stabæk Fotball is a Norwegian professional football club based in Bærum, a suburb of Oslo. It is part of the multi-sport organization Stabæk IF. Founded in 1912, the club's name is an archaic spelling of the suburban area Stabekk, from which it once originated. The club currently competes in the Eliteserien, the top tier of Football in Norway. Their home stadium is the Nadderud Stadion after a three-year-long stay at the Telenor Arena. Their current chairman is Espen Moe. Lars Bohinen is the current head coach of the club since taking over on 18 August 2022.
Harald Martin Brattbakk is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He was the all-time top scorer in the Norwegian top division with 166 goals in 255 matches, before being surpassed by Sigurd Rushfeldt in 2011. After his retirement from playing he became a pilot.
The Lerkendal Stadion is an all-seater football stadium located at Lerkendal in Trondheim, Norway. The home ground of the Eliteserien (2017) side Rosenborg BK, it has a capacity for 21,405 spectators, making it the second-largest football stadium in the country.
Christer Basma is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a defender. He played 16 consecutive seasons Tippeligaen, for Kongsvinger, Stabæk and Rosenborg. With 350 top division appearances, Basma has made the eighth-highest number of appearances in Eliteserien. Basma was capped 40 times for Norway. He has later worked as assistant coach of Ranheim.

Fredrik Guttormsen Lærum Winsnes is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder, primarily for Rosenborg BK in the Norwegian Premier League. He also played 19 games for the Norway national football team.
Trond Børge Henriksen is a Norwegian football coach and former player. He is the father of Rosenborg BK midfielder Markus Henriksen.
Kåre Rønnes is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played all his career in Rosenborg BK, Trondheim.
Tor Røste Fossen was a Norwegian football player and coach. He played for Rosenborg from 1964 to 1971, earning two Norwegian Premier League titles and one Norwegian Cup championship. He coached several Norwegian clubs besides coaching the Norway national football team during ten years 1978–1987.
Harald Sunde is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played for Rosenborg BK in Trondheim in three periods from 1967 to 1979, in seven seasons in the Norwegian Premier League he played 104 matches and scored 30 goals. Sunde was capped 39 times for Norway national football team and scored five goals. Sunde coached Rosenborg BK in parts of the 1983 season.
Arne Dokken is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played as forward for several Norwegian clubs and two Greek clubs and 24 matches for Norway national football team scoring two goals. In eight seasons in the Norwegian top division he played 147 matches scoring 64 goals. He was top scorer in 1. divisjon in 1975 and 1980. His son Kenneth Dokken also became a footballer.
Bjørn Rime is a Norwegian former football player and coach. He played 130 matches in the Norwegian Premier League, nine seasons with Rosenborg BK, Trondheim and one with SK Gjøvik-Lyn. Being a defender he scored only four goals in these matches. He was capped once for Norway national football team. He was head coach for Rosenborg BK in the 1977 season.
Rosenborg Ballklub is a football club from Trondheim, Norway. It was established in 1917 as Odd by 12 boys, and played local friendlies, became it was not permitted to join the Football Association of Norway (NFF). After permission was granted, it took the current name and joined the league system in 1928. Until 1937, Rosenborg played in the regional league, both in the A and B division, after numerous promotions and relegations. Since 1932, the team has played in the Norwegian Football Cup. It jointed the inaugural League of Norway in 1937, but the break-out of the Second World War in 1940 caused a halt to all organized sports.

Rosenborg joined the top league in 1967 and won it in the club's inaugural top tier season. It has only spent one season outside the top tier since, which was in 1978.
Norwegian football teams have entered Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) club competitions every season since 1960. Nineteen clubs have represented Norway in four official tournaments: the Champions League, the Europa League, the Cup Winners' Cup and the Intertoto Cup, the latter two which are now defunct. Rosenborg has participated in thirty seasons, more than any other Norwegian team, while Fyllingen, Gjøvik-Lyn, Haugar and Kongsvinger have only participated once each. No Norwegian teams have ever advanced past the quarter-finals of any tournament, with Rosenborg, Lyn, Brann, Vålerenga and Bodø/Glimt having reached one quarter-final each.
The rivalry between Molde and Rosenborg is a notable one in Norwegian football as both clubs are recognised for having great history and traditions.
