Jan Cober (born 1951) is a Dutch conductor [1] and clarinet player.

Life

Jan Cober is the child of a musical family from the village of Thorn, Netherlands. He played the clarinet in the Royal Harmony of Thorn. He studied conducting and the clarinet at the Conservatory of Maastricht and completed both studies with a Prix d'Excellence. Between 1972 and 1977, he was the first clarinet of the Nederlandse omroeporkest (Dutch broadcast orchestra), and starting in 1977, he was the solo clarinet player at the Residentie Orkest in The Hague. He has worked with famous conductors Willem van Otterloo and Ferdinand Leitner. At an NOS broadcast course and competition for conductors led by Neeme Järvi, he entered the final rounds.

Since 1976, he teaches clarinet and conductorship at the Brabants conservatorium in Tilburg, the Maastricht Academy of Music and the Conservatory of Utrecht. Additionally, he is part of the European Institute for Conducting in the Italian city of Trento.

In 1995, Jan became the conductor of the Royal Harmonie Sainte Cécile Eijsden. [2]

Josephus Maria Martinus van Veldhoven is a Dutch choral conductor. He studied musicology at the Rijksuniversiteit of Utrecht, and choral and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory, the Hague. He was artistic director of the Netherlands Bach Society from 1983 to 2018.
In this capacity he regularly gave performances at home and abroad of the major works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his predecessors and contemporaries. Franz Klarwein was a German operatic lyric tenor and later character tenor. Henrie Adams was a Dutch conductor. He focused on band music, and was from 1989 to 2019 director of the Spanish Banda Sinfónica de la Sociedad Musical "La Artística" in Buñol, leading them to achieve prizes at international competitions. He conducted them in many recordings. Adams led world premieres of works for symphonic bands, such as Johan de Meij's Symphony No. 3 "Planet Earth", a choral symphony, in 2007. From 2008, he also directed the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castelló in Castellón de la Plana.
