The Jan Smuts Stadium is an athletics and football stadium in the Arcadia suburb of East London, Buffalo City. [1] The stadium is named in honour of Jan Smuts, and is adjacent to the Buffalo City Stadium.
During the 2009–10 football season, it was named as Blackburn Rovers FC's home venue, competing at the Eastern Cape province of Vodacom League. When the team after the season won promotion for National First Division, they however moved their home venue to the adjacent Buffalo City Stadium. In the 2010–11 season, no less than 4 other teams from Vodacom League (FC Buffalo, Bush Bucks, OR Tambo DC, Tornado), picked the Jan Smuts Stadium as their preferred home venue.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Club are a South African professional football club based in Naturena, Johannesburg South, that plays in the DStv Premiership. The team is nicknamed AmaKhosi, which means "Lords" or "Chiefs" in Zulu, and the Phefeni Glamour Boys. Chiefs have won 13 league titles and over 42 cup trophies. The club's most recent trophy was the Shell Helix Ultra Cup trophy it won on 12 October 2019. Highmark Stadium is a stadium in Orchard Park, New York, in the Southtowns of the Buffalo metropolitan area. The stadium opened in 1973 as Rich Stadium and is the home venue of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). It was known as Ralph Wilson Stadium from 1998 to 2015, New Era Field from 2016 to 2019, and Bills Stadium in 2020.
War Memorial Stadium, colloquially known as The Rockpile, was an outdoor football, baseball and soccer stadium in Buffalo, New York. Opened in 1937 as Roesch Memorial Stadium, the venue was later known as Grover Cleveland Stadium and Civic Stadium. The stadium was home to the Canisius Golden Griffins (NCAA), Buffalo Indians-Tigers (AFL), Buffalo Bills (AAFC), Buffalo Bulls (NCAA), Buffalo Bills (AFL/NFL), Buffalo Bisons (IL), Buffalo White Eagles (ECPSL), Buffalo Blazers (NSL), Buffalo Bisons (EL/AA) and Canisius Golden Griffins (NCAA). It also had a race track and hosted several NASCAR events. The venue was demolished in 1989 and replaced with the Johnnie B. Wiley Amateur Athletic Sports Pavilion, which retains entrances from the original stadium.
The Excelsior Stadium is a football stadium in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is the home ground of Airdrieonians of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). FC Buffalo is an association football club based in the Southernwood suburb of East London, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The club was founded in June 2006, and during their first four years, they played in the SAB Regional League, the fourth level of South African football. In June 2010, they bought the Castle League franchise of The Guys, and hereby bought a promotion to play in the Vodacom League. Their first season at this level proved to be very successful. They managed to win the Eastern Cape Province, and thus qualified for the Promotional playoffs in June 2011, with a chance of further promotion to the National First Division.
