Janakiram is an Indian doctor and film actor, who has worked on Tamil language films.

Film career

Keen to work in Tamil cinema as a playback singer, Janaki Ram moved to Chennai to seek opportunities, and received a breakthrough as an actor. [1] Janaki Ram worked on his first film Kattuviriyan in early 2007, starring as the love interest of Malavika's character. [2] Janaki Ram later played the lead role in Brahmadeva (2009), where he appeared as a mentally-challenged person and a happy-go-lucky youngster. [3] He also produced the film under his studio of Royal Pentagon's Productions and worked with the director to write the script. [4] During the period, Janaki Ram also worked on Moondram Pournami, a horror film alongside Preethi Varma, where he also doubled up as a playback singer. Directed by Ravinder, a cinematographer known for his work on Chinnathambi (1991), the film eventually had a delayed release in February 2023. [5]

In 2012, Janaki Ram individually prepared Kattuviriyan for release in Telugu under the title of Nippulanti Nijam. [6] It was revealed that Telugu version was directed by Kumar Ponnada and produced by Arjun Reddy, with musical scores rendered by Sekhar and Chinni Krishna. Janaki Ram used an extra song featuring Mumaith Khan for the film, with an audio release function taking place in Hyderabad during May 2012. [7]

Medical career

Janakiram is known for his work on endoscopic management of Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA) and for his work in skull base surgery. He is currently the managing director of Royal Pearl Hospital in Tiruchirapally, India. [8] [9]

Madhavan, Shamita Shetty and Sadha featured in the leading roles, while the film had songs and score composed by four music directors including G. V. Prakash Kumar and Dharan. A remake of the Hindi film, Darling (2007), the film was initially launched in 2006 as Ram Gopal Varma's production, but was eventually sold to Storm Pictures after Varma, Venkat and Madhavan had gone through creative differences. During post-production, the unit experienced further difficulties after the producer had failed to pay technicians, and subsequently the film did not have a theatrical release.

Payanam's cast includes Nagarjuna, Prakash Raj, Poonam Kaur, Sana Khan, Rishi, Brahmanandam and Thalaivasal Vijay. The film was co-produced by Raj and Dil Raju, and was released on 11 February 2011 to critical and commercial success.

3 is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic psychological thriller film written and directed by Aishwarya R. Dhanush, the Ex wife of the actor Dhanush, who also produced the film, thus making their debut in both the fields. He also played the lead role alongside Shruti Haasan, whilst Sivakarthikeyan and Sunder Ramu appear in prominent roles. The film follows Ram (Dhanush) and Janani, two intermediate sweethearts who eventually get married. However, Janani is mystified when Ram commits suicide all of a sudden and she tries to find out the truth behind his death.

<i>Magadheera</i> (soundtrack) 2009 soundtrack album by M. M. Keeravani

Magadheera is the feature film soundtrack of the 2009 Telugu-language period action film of the same name directed by S. S. Rajamouli. M. M. Keeravani composed the soundtrack and he worked with Kalyani Malik for the film's background score. The soundtrack consists of six songs whose lyrics were penned by Bhuvanachandra, Chandrabose and Keeravani himself.

Yaar Kannan is an Indian film director and screenwriter who has worked on Tamil films. He made his debut with the 1985 with the horror film Yaar? and regularly collaborated with Ramarajan in the late 1980s.

Punnami Naagu is a 2009 Indian Telugu-language female-centric horror film directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy in Telugu and Yaar Kannan in Tamil. Mumaith Khan plays dual roles as a snakewoman and a city woman. The film was later shot in Tamil as Pournami Nagam (2010) with Karunas replacing Rajiv Kanakala as the male lead.
