King County is located in the U.S. state of Washington. The population was 2,269,675 in the 2020 census,making it the most populous county in Washington,and the 13th-most populous in the United States. The county seat is Seattle,also the state's most populous city.

Peter G. von Reichbauer is an American businessman and politician serving as a member of the nonpartisan King County Council,representing District 7,a 124-square-mile (320 km2) region of South King County which includes all of the cities of Algona and Federal Way,the entire King County portions of Auburn,Milton,and Pacific and large unincorporated areas. Prior to his election to the council,von Reichbauer served as a Washington State Senator for the 30th Legislative District between 1973 and 1994.
Lawrence R. Phillips is an American politician who served as a member of the King County Council in Washington state. Phillips served on the Council from 1992 to 2016,representing the fourth district,which includes the Seattle neighborhoods of Queen Anne,Magnolia,Ballard,Fremont,Belltown,South Lake Union,and Downtown. He served as Chair of the Council from 2004 to 2006 and again in 2014. He was unopposed in his 2011 re-election. Phillips also serves on the Board of Directors of Sound Transit,a regional transit organization serving the Puget Sound area. A hallmark of Phillips's tenure has been his work to preserve forests and farmland by buying land,development rights,or conservation easements. Phillips is a self-identified Democrat,although his position on the King County Council was officially nonpartisan. On April 1,2015,Phillips announced he would not seek reelection to the King County Council that November.
Kathy Kristensen Lambert served as an American politician and educator from Washington state. Lambert was a 20 year member of the King County Council for the third district,the largest district covering much of the eastern part of the county. Lambert is a former Republican member of the Washington House of Representatives where she served in leadership and taught elementary and middle school. She is also a published author and poet.
James Dow Constantine is an American politician,lawyer,and urban planner in the state of Washington who is serving his third term as King County Executive,an office he has held since November 2009. He was in the state legislature and on the King County Council,chairing the latter before his election as executive. Constantine is a self-identified Democrat,though the executive's office is officially nonpartisan. He considered running for governor of Washington in the 2020 election but decided against it when incumbent Jay Inslee decided to seek a third term.

Locke served as the 21st governor of Washington from 1997 to 2005,where he was the first Chinese-American governor as well as the first Asian American governor in the continental U.S. During the Obama administration,Locke served as Secretary of Commerce from 2009 to 2011,and as Ambassador to China from 2011 to 2014,the first Chinese American to serve in the role.

Prior to his political career,Burgess was a radio journalist and Seattle Police Department (SPD) officer.

Michael J. O'Brien is an American politician and former member of the Seattle City Council who represented District 6 in northwest Seattle. He was first elected in 2009 to a different,city-wide council seat. He was the leading proponent of the opt-out list for the Yellow Pages. He was the only opponent of the proposed deep bore tunnel under downtown Seattle on the city council. He was chair of the local chapter of the Sierra Club before running for office. In this capacity,he was one of the leading opponents of the 2007 Roads and Transit ballot measure.
