Dame Jane Elisabeth Roberts, DBE (born August 1955) [1] is a British psychiatrist and Labour Party politician.
She has been a consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry since 1994,and was medical director of Islington Primary Care Trust. She was leader of the London Borough of Camden from 2000 to 2005. [2] [3] She was chair of the Councillors Commission. [ when? ]
She was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2004 for services to local government. [2]
The London Borough of Islington is a London borough in Inner London. The borough includes a significant area to the south which forms part of central London. Islington has an estimated population of 215,667. It was formed in 1965 under the London Government Act 1963,which simultaneously abolished the metropolitan boroughs of Islington and Finsbury.
